How much $$ do bells and whistles add to preamp?

Not set.  I'm just wondering if a preamp listed at about 6K also has DAC HTBP Streaming capacity, etc., how much of that 6K is for the stuff other than a line preamp?

rustler, if you don't want or need any of those bells and whistles, why are you looking into units that have them? that doesn't make any sense. look for a simple pre-amp. there's a messload out there.

Just buy what you want. It's easier to find lack of features rather than  any uneeded attributes. 

Belles Aria Signature pre fits your desires (it does have bypass, but simply do not use it). Straight forward pre that is only 2 channel analog w/a MM phono included, and that is where David put all his emphasis, as usual.

I would give the Musical Fidelity Ms8 preamp a hard long look.
