ABS: What Is The Trouble With Measurements.

All speakers are imperfect and deserve to be measured. Subjective listening alone is not enough! In fact, measuring identifies the problem areas and then DSP can  be used to correct frequency response flaws, resulting in much improved sound.

Subjective assessment is the highest form of discrimination and is highly dependent on the intrinsic capacity for acute and gifted discernment of the observer.

Thank you for posting this. I'm very interested in the epistemology of listening and it is news to me that a well known publication is daring to put "philosophical" as the header of a column.
