I don't know if any of you remember or were a part of the Gramophone Magazine Forum but I was a very early poster. Over the course of time people were down right repugnant. The level of insults, name calling, racially disparaging attacks, etc... became out of control. Eventually Gramophone just cut the chord and the forum was finito. I view Audiogon as the heretical opposite of what the Gramophone forum was. And while the monitoring here sometimes seems excessive, I do believe it keeps the mud slinging from adulterating Audiogon's greater good. |
As long as you enjoy living your life in an Echo Chamber, @goofyfoot, Audiogon is and will continue to be the place for you to post and debate, err, scratch that, "debate" implies a differing opinion which may lead to (shudder) disputing conversations. There may even be "huffy tones" in Forum Member's voices!
Not to worry, if that happens, or if a Member gets their feelings hurt, we can rest peacefully knowing the Moderators will most certainly shut down the thread by sunrise -- protecting our sensibilities and fragile egos and psyches. |
