Eydie Gorme - Blame it on the Bossa Nova
Caterina Valente - Plenty Valente!
Barbra Joan Streisand-ST Side 1 Saturday Night Fever(Sound Track) Side 1 George Muribus-Trio '77 Side B SQ Audiophile Giuffria-ST Side 1 Devadip(Carlos Santana)-Oneness Side 2 SQ Audiophile Eugenia Zuckerman-Music For Flute(Pro Arte PAL-1086) Side 1 SQ Audiophile ELP-Pictures At An Exhibition Side 1 SQ Audiophile Renaissance-Azure D'or Side 2 4/8 with Audiophile SQ makes for an enjoyable listening session. Giuffria(Grundman) and Renaissance were average at best. Tough call between Zuckerman/Muribus and ELP for the SQ crown. I will award the crown to ELP(1st pressing) for the great bass SQ on a rock recording.

Since I have hit the 3 year mark of playing 1 side of every vinyl record in my collection about 150+ albums are left. About 50 are classical/baroque/organ in VG/VG+ condition all thrift store finds including another 50+ Broadway/movie scores/50’, 60’s pop that await a stylus drop. Another 15 box classical/opera sets which I have played at least half. That leaves the miscellaneous and about a dozen sealed albums. In summary it shows how long it takes to play every record even in a mid-sized collection(1800-2000). Now the difficult part deciding what goes and how many multiple copies are kept. |
@dayglow Saturday Night Fever, what a great double album. Never being a fan of disco, this got blended in from my wife’s collection and now I’m really glad I have it. Lots of earworms, for sure. You’re probably humming “Stayin’ Alive” right now…😁 |
@bslon At that time 1977/8 I was still a kid in middle school listening to Top 40 radio. It was one of a few albums that my older sister and myself both had. It wasn’t until I heard Foghat-Live, Double Live Gonzo ect. when my taste in music changed. FWIW I prefer the smoothness of "Night Fever" over "Stayin’ Alive". |
