Best Connection Method for a Sub(s)

Quick question: For two channel audio what is the best way to hook up a subwoofer(s)? Using line level outputs (such as from a DAC or other line level source) or connect the subwoofer to the high level amp outputs and use the high level inputs on the sub? I would be using the EQ in the sub. I think I know but want advice from those with more experience then me. Thank you.

+2.  High level inputs.  Low pass frequency level at the lowest setting.  Gain set just barely loud enough to hear it on the heaviest bass passages.

Thanks everyone.  That was not the answer I was expecting.  It helped with a sub decision though.

When I purchased my first sub I used the high level inputs because it seemed to be everyones recommend method, but just for fun one day I tried to the line level connection and found it to be a better way to go. I found the sound to be a little more coherent.

If you are new to subs you may find some good information in this white paper.
