Seeking audition of Tekton Moab, Encore, or Ulfberht speakers in DFW Metroplex area

@hilde45 Thanks! Your impressions are not that far off from mine. About 2-3 years ago, I went to audition the Double Impacts at a seller's house. They keyword was 'big'! Big sound, big size, big presence. The seller was running it with a Quicksilver tube integrated amp but I can't remember the exact model though. I also found it to be a bit 'too in your face.' In the end, my conclusion was that you get what you pay for. Their performance was within the respective price bracket ... giant killers they were not! Just to be clear, they were good speakers and I can see someone being very happy with them. Just not for me!

@arafiq Most welcome. I have quicksilvers also, and the person who had them had very very nice tube amps, not too powerful. Still -- too in your face. I'd rather try Zu or Omega at this pricepoint. Or go higher, to Fyne, Tannoy, Devore, etc.

@carlsbad2 I never heard them with SET amps, which I think would be a very important test. That said, I've heard other very sensitive speakers with SET amps, and some of them have very very nice parts in them (including higher quality drivers). The Tekton engineers may be onto something special with their design, but the folks I've talked to say the they'd be better with better parts. But that's not a debate I am really qualified to adjudicate. Let's just say that if I had the money, I'd probably go for higher end, higher sensitivity speakers than Tekton.
