I saw the back of an integrated and it depressed me.

Recently took a look at an ad for a Technics SU-G700M2 integrated amplifier, and honestly it made me a little sad for me, my hobby and the gear I ended up with.

When I "wore a younger man's shoes" I needed inputs! I was going to have a turntable, a Tandberg reel to reel and cassette player, and that new fangled CD player would be there as well.

This new integrated has 5 digital inputs and 2 analog inputs... and anyway I just want to drink while playing Billy Joel radio on my Roon streamer.

....I won’t beg to differ, @bigtwin @erik_squires .... 😒

Those lil’ clippy things are only a plastic step-Down from a Fahnestock clip....

Oh, sure...the plastic won’t short out, but I’ve had a couple break or seem so loose that any ’crackle’ or loss of channel would be my first culprit....

That, and the wire ’fray’ with 12g. cables?

Drove me to ’tin’ all the end ’stabs’.... (hidden benefit = I can ’haircut’ 10g, tin, and dB to other realms....)

....and those plastic b*st*rds are too close together....2 side by side, *meh*.

4 s/s, I’ve got ’fat fingers’ (...that some would say match my fat head...and they’ll get theirs....*nasty Snicker*....)

*Bleeah!* (Nasty Snicker, thrown in round file....)

I’ve seen 6, even 8 in a row....That’s Insane.

5 way posts or Dearth I mean Depth dammitDEATH......

Damn the warranty....

I'll take the phoenix plugs on my amp as a close 2nd pref....   anytime, anywhere, anyhow, anywho....

"’all-out HULK’"

Well, happy to report I didn’t have go to this extreme at the car show yesterday. Made a point to wear my "REAL CARS DON’T SHIFT THEMSELVES" t-shirt (with the familiar 5-speed shift knob icon). They were too busy smiling to notice how "cute" my car was. But, I will take your advice when we show my wife’s Mini Cooper S convertible next time. This car is so cute, you’re tempted to reach over and pinch it.

"That was my TV. I shot some NASTY dude speaking too often about overpopulation from TV screen in ravaging anger."

I figured the guy who checked it in used an alias.  I can finally find closer on this 20-year-old issue.  Thank you for stepping forward.

"My first ever car was a ’67 Sunbeam Alpine"

I hate to get all geeky here on British cars with 4-cylinder tractor motors under the bonnet, but I bought a Series V Alpine 30 years ago. 10 years later I added a turbo with the goal of matching 1/4 mile performance of a showroom stock 260 V8 Tiger. I now have the time slips to prove it. It’s truly "The Little Engine that Could." Still have the car (plus 2 Tigers) and thrash it at every opportunity.
