Absorbing traffic noise with Helmholtz resonators (video)

@asvjerry A.I. did come to mind for me, too. Acoustics is inordinately complicated and the additional computational power already being deployed in headphones and other applications might be put to work in dealing with room noise.

It would be fabulous if we could drop the noise floor of nearly any room, anywhere. This would make listening rooms amazing, but also restaurants and other crowded spaces. 

In short: Down with Noise!

This certainly falls into the "Gee, I never thought of that!" category.

Very interesting.  Much more socially and environmenatlly friendly than tire deflation strips to reduce traffic noise.
