Terry DeWick has passed

I just read in another forum that Terry DeWick has passed. May he rest in peace.

Terry was a consummate tech but above all else quietly dedicated towards providing both quality and consideration to his clients. I'm sure many here have had great experiences in their dealings with him but would like to tell the forum about one.

Driving back from Buffalo with some speakers that were pickup only, had told Terry I would stop by and pick up some MC 60s he had helped me with. Only 7PM turned into 10PM then midnight then 2AM. He insisted I stop by regardless. Subsequent trips he would repair the amps on the spot when I showed up, usually for $75 or so.

Lots of good conversations ,he liked to talk and I enjoyed listening obviously as he had much to offer. Great, great guy.

I never had the pleasure of talking to Terry, or having him service my equipment, but I've dealt with his partner Tom Manley and he's a standout guy as well.

I talked to Terry a few years ago when he first retired. I had a problem with one of my McIntosh MC30s and he helped me out through several lengthy phone calls. He always had time for fellow audiophiles, no matter what. That’s the kind of person he was. He had a tremendous amount of knowledge and a big heart and helped hundreds in this hobby. He was a true legend and will sorely missed. RIP.

I had only email communications with him. He was quick to respond helpfully. A good man indeed.
