I also believe that budget restrictions can have a positive influence.

Within certain limits.

There is a sort of "minimum benchmark" of quality where glaring problems disappear and are replaced by tweaking. Besides, replacing components willy nilly every couple of months, doesn't guarantee that you will be any happier than the person that is methodical and informed about his purchases.

I agree re: the minimum benchmark.

Also, it would seem one has to make a sufficient number of mistakes in order to discover what one actually likes/dislikes! ;o)
