Music reproduction is art

You could compare music reproduction to photorealism in painting. Even within that genre there is variance between artists in their approach and abilities. 

While I agree that there's no absolute "right" or "wrong," I do not think music reproduction is art. Creating music can be art. Reproducing it is science. To the extent that judgment and experience improve the result, that's really a craft, not art.

I agree. The purpose of hi-end audio is recreating the original music. It is a short of science that can’t recreating it.

At least, there is a new technology that a microphone sounds like a real human voice without bad noises (veil, glare, brightness). alex/WTA

It is art. From the musician, the singer, or performer, and including the sound engineers to the guy on the mixing board, it is all art.
