Who puts their speakers right up against the back wall and why?

Aside from Klipsch corner speakers, who does this?

Another vote for the Larsens, or the older Sjofn HiFi Clue standmounts, or Audio Note, or some of the Gradient models, and a bunch more I am forgetting.

It wasn't so ago that the rectangular box loudspeakers were demonstrated on a wall full of loudspeakers. There was not a speaker stand to be found. Times change and so did the loudspeakers.

Someone once provided me with a link for bookshelf speaker placement, and it showed the front face no more than 25" from the untreated wall (which seems awfully close to me) and I believe the rationale had to do with the reflections from that wall going just a little bit further than 25".

Re Larsens, vinylvalet ...

I have been intrigued with them for years and read all the reviews, but haven't auditioned them. Sadly, The founder, Mr. Larsen, recently died and the future of the company is uncertain, according to the US distributor (I spoke to him about a month ago). Small company.
