Not a very popular genre on this forum, it appears, but, HARD ROCK & HEAVY METAL FANS, feel free to share some worthwhile tracks.

Great idea for a thread. It all began with Black Sabbath S/T 1970 to kick off the genre.  Honorable mention to The Beatles "Helter Skelter" for inspiration to many future bands.

Happy Listening!

"Becoming Led Zeppelin" is coming to IMAX in February 2025. No idea what it is but I want to see it.

@tcutter - in my college dorm back in the early 70's, that first Captain Beyond was VERY popular - excellent album. And the drumming is just insane...

@Larsman - I have the original pressing with the 3D cover. Probably have played it at least 100 times over the past 50 years.  Still sounds fantastic.

I’m a fan of Death metal and Black metal. Also Sludge and Hardcore. So, don’t know should I recommend something... But considering we are on audiophile forum, if you want to try something good on vinyl, and something that will not cause blood from your ears, try Gojira, Deftones, Marilyn Manson, their’s vinyl presses sound amasing. I also admire Metallica’s DMMs 45rpm presses, early presses by Pantera and Slayer.

Many times mentioned here Iron Maiden, my favorite album is Piece of Mind, also sounds great on vinyl by the way. If you don’t want to listen to the whole album, try Flight of Icarus song. Another great heavy metal is Metal Church. And my top heavy metal album is Rainbow Rising.

If I had to choose one song, let it be This Love by Pantera.
