HiFi Rose RS150B vs. Eversolo DMP-A10

I have an Eversolo DMP-A8 that I just moved to a system in a second home, so now I need to replace the streamer/DAC in my primary system. I started with a Cary Audio DMS 550, then replaced it with the DMP-A8, with a linear power supply upgrade, now thinking about going with the RS150B or the new DMP-A10. Any thoughts about the two? The streamer/DAC will be connecting to my Accuphase E-4000 integrated. The internal storage of the streamer is important to me as it houses my main music library - ripped SACD's so mainly all DSD files.

No Eversolo product is worth $4k. They do a poor job at supporting their entry to streaming.   It's a $899 box that runs on Android 11 just like the rest of their line up.

The better streamers use custom Linux OS and can be remotely accessed by the mfg in many cases.   I had an issue with Playlists on my Aurender N200 and they were able to remotely diagnose and correct the issue.

You will never get that level of support with Eversolo, they have yet to correct USB issues with several DACs and there are drop out issues with Tidal since last version.

Not sure about HiFi Rose but hopefully they have real support like Innuos , Aurender, and  Auralic

I’d recommend a good streamer from Innuos or Aurender (because they’re established and successful on all fronts) and a separate DAC that best produces the sound characteristics you’re looking for.  DACs are very different, personal, and important and what are the odds that a DAC bundled with a streamer is optimal for your particular tastes?  I’d say near zero so better to go with a separate DAC, and it also allows for more flexibility to upgrade either the streamer or DAC in the future as technology inevitably moves forward and improves.  Hope this helps, and best of luck.

I've also had great support from Aurender. You simply email support and they get back to you in like 48 hours. In their lineup maybe look at the A 200 in your price range if you want streamer/Dac all in 1. (If not going separates. )

Ever since owning a Linn CD player I have been one with their philosophy of "source first- garbage in = garbage out"

It is not clear if you fixed at that price point:

With that principle if sound quality is a top concern you should be matching your source investment to your 10+ k amplification. If you are one to invest in a LPS I would assume that is you.

Why have you settled on those 2 choices?

If WAF is not a concern I agree with others-go separates*- more flexibility for sound tastes and options down the road to update either streamer/player and DAC. Of course you could use the Eversolo as the streamer only but why pay for the DAC part, and the pre-amp part since you already have an integrated? Most mid-range DAC’s do come equipped with a pre-amp function, and an endpoint for Roon (do you use Roon?) but one usually can do much better.

Some will say the DAC makes most of the difference, some have claimed they hear no differences in the streamer/player whatsoever, some of the people in the forum from my streamer manufacturer have claimed more difference in the streamer than the DAC, but that is at the upper end market.

So what is your budget? If you could demo some streamer/DAC combinations and you definitely heard an substantial uptick in sound with a 10-15k streamer/converter setup compared to a 5k all-in-one would you be inclined to pay for that? Or are you fixed on 5k for the source(s)?

There are plenty of choices out there, I have seen how these threads go on this forum for streamers- the majority: 95% of the responses- will recommend Aurender, Innuos, Lumin or Aries, and for good reason- nothing wrong with that, but if you could swing a Grimm MU2* or Playback Edelweiss*, I am sure you would be very happy.
