I would look at your gear first. Have you tried the most minimal configuration, I.e. strip some gear out of the daisy chain, including the ups, and see if you still hear it?
Power conditioner?
Hi everyone, HH
I am thinking I might be in need of a power conditioner. Not for my stereo, but for my recording gear. Even tho this is not a recording gear forum, I was thinking this would be a good place to ask.
I have several pieces of "studio recording" equip. daisy-chained in and out of my computer’s sound card, balanced XLR. There is some low-level noise that I would
like to get rid of if possible. Here is what it sounds like:

And here is what it looks like on a scope:

That sound naturally comes in at around -72db, so I boosted it quite a bit to make it more audible. If you are going to have a listen, don’t turn the volume all the way up to hear it. It’s not 60-cycle hum; I guess it’s just the gear itself. But I still wonder if I can eliminate, or greatly reduce it. Every piece of gear, incl the computer, is plugged into a UPS, and that gets 120 (give or take) from the wall.
I tried a Furman from Guitar Center:

Which did literally nothing. That means, a) a power conditioner is not what I need, or b) The Furman is too cheap a piece of gear to handle this
I was hoping to get some thoughts from people who know better than I. If a power conditioner is the answer, I will get one; I would like to try and keep it under 3k
Thanks in advance.
