@michiganbuckeye I am quite late to this party, but that’s what happens when you find a thread that was started a few years ago. I too am interested in the current model F5 with the built in subs as a possible solution for my new home theater room. The idea of having the subs built into the front LR speakers is a good one and saves a bit of money on the front end as well as real estate in what is likely going to be a fairly crowded room. The idea of floor standing speakers also solves the speaker stand issue...making them unnecessary. With all of that in mind, I am quite curious to know what you ended up with for amplifier and how the whole system is working for you. Inquiring Minds want to know... :)
As an aside, I have a pair of Ohm Walsh 2000's that I am using in my office/music room that I really like a lot. I am driving them with a Hypex NC502 (500 wpc) class D amp from VTV and using an Emotiva PT1 preamp to drive the VTV. I am very happy with the overall sonic signature of that combo, and can whole-heartedly recommend that as a great solution when you don't need stereo subwoofer outputs. Plenty of power for any kind of sane listening levels or perhaps even enough for some insane levels. :) Those that wonder if class D really delivers on the hype I can honestly say it does. Given the name of the amp module I think Hypex is a great name for it as it crosses out the hype completely.
