2025 Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees

I’ve never paid much attention to the R&R H.O.F.

I realize some people get very heated about who gets in or not and the timing, but strictly speaking for myself, whether a band I enjoy is in or out means little. If their music speaks to me, that’s what counts. My enjoyment is not in the least affected by their HOF status.

Once they inducted Dolly Parton into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame it became very apparent that it’s a meaningless honor not based on true rock music accomplishments. She’s a fine person & really good in her genre but rock it ain’t.  Additionally, if an amazingly talented musician who put out many great rock albums as well as more folky & unique ones ( including in the past month!!) isn’t in there, then the institution can’t be taken seriously.  Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, Benefit, Stand Up, War Child and so on…..

Complete bullshit, all about record sales.  Mariah Carey, but no Smiths, Squeeze, Graham Parker...  I could go on and on.

After the last Hall of Fame induction ceremony, I learned that Jethro Tull is not among the groups enshrined there. The credibility of that institution, for me, is gone. Let’s hope that’s remedied in the not too distant future.
