@stuartk  The Old Grey Whistle Test was such a great program.  Soooooo many performances I've loved over the years.

I got to see Emmylou Harris back in the 80's at the University of Alberta.  The Myer Horowitz Theater to be exact.  683 seats.  What I remember about her show was the configuration of the stage.  All the musicians  were set up in a straight line.  Emmylou in the middle and the drums on one end.  It struck me she was saying everyone is equal in this performance.  Great show.  I've seen many fabulous shows at that venue over the years.  From Johnny Winter to David Grisman.  The most recent was Dweezil Zappa performing the entire Hot Rats LP.  Saw his father a few times.  Always fun.  Cheers.

Hearing Little Village (John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe, and Jim Keltner) perform "Lipstick Sunset" (from John’s Bring The Family album) live was unquestionably the high point of my live music experience. During Ry’s guitar solo in the song I felt like time had stopped.

@stuartk yes I have heard it, bought it when it first came out on vinyl and included a CD version that stays in my truck. The vinyl is wonderfully done as is the CD and the sound quality is a 10. Don’t overlook his second album from 1970, From a whisper to a scream w/Mac Rebennack and also The River in Reverse, with Elvis Costello and the Crescent City Horns with one of my favorite AT songs, All These Things, which my date and I danced cheek to cheek to @ Pauls Lounge in Jenerette La. with AT and his band playing at my Senior prom in 1970. Thanks for stirring up these memories. Enjoy the music

Well, it’s pretty great on the record, so I have no difficulty believing you!

@tooblue

Will look those up. Thanks!

@bigtwin

I saw her in ’76 and then, The Hot Band with Rodney doing all the lead vocals, at the Bluebird Cafe a few years later, with both F. Reckard and A. Lee on guitar. these gigs were in Santa Barbara, which was a music lover’s paradise in the 70’s.

You know the saying: "There are only two kinds of men in this world; those who are in love with EmmyLou and those who've yet to discover her".   ;o)
