8 Reasons why you should buy an $50,000 DAC

Penned some thoughts on my experience of why I invested in an Uber expensive DAC and how it turned out (more to come) , https://audiofool.substack.com/p/8-reasons-why-you-should-buy-a-50000

Hopefully you find it entertaining.

Brickbats, bouquets and anything in between most welcome.

Funny!

One reason to not own a $50K DAC, it cost $50K and I could do some really good things with $50K Like bet it all on Black at the Winstar Casino.

Just kidding I would bet Red.

Yes, it was entertaining. But if I had a system that cost in the 6-figures (and some people do, even if it's not me), a $50K DAC would not be at all out of line if I liked the sound and the build.

A reality is the the Hardware to produce the DAC will be comparative as a BOM to DACs that come with a much lesser retail price.

Is the R&D cost for the DAC and a follow up expectation of a low volume of sales the substantiation for the retail price selected?

Has the Design for the Housing for the DAC been produced in a unusual method and being bespoke, rare and quite unique, adding considerable cost to the overall end cost?

Is the Volume of Air within the Chassis classed by the Company as being priceless, but in this case, by substantially undercutting the price that was intended to be realised, a concerted effort has been made to help it become affordable to a larger collection of customers?

Reason #9 - You can afford to drop 50K on a piece of audio equipment.  What else are you going to do with the money?  Give it to charity?
