25.00 flat rate shipping

Audiogon sent me an e-mail yesterday that for 25.00 you can advertise a piece of equipment and pay no commission. You can also Include you're phone # in the ad. What is you're opinion about this?

However, the email also states that a $4 listing fee still applies and a 2% transaction fee once the sale is made (up to $100).

Gotta love the fine print, but it's still better than before.

All the best,
Nonoise
It would be a good deal for you IF its a higher priced piece, and IF it sells. If not, you pay as much as you would have after 6 months of listing it. I guess for me, I'll stick with the standard listing.

Sounds like they want to get rid of the garage
sale stuff.

Just like everything else in our society, catering to the wealthy. The old system, which is still around, is $4 and 2% of sale, up to $100. Which means that the big players, selling anything over $5000, stop paying the 2% fee. Now with the $25 flat fee, those selling over $1000 can make out.

Who doesn't make out? Those that are selling less expensive gear and cables. I'd rather see a flat 1% fee with no cap, you sell a pair of speakers for $50,000, your ad cost $500.
