transparent ultra vs ultra xl

well i have tried the transparent speaker wire $1500 10ft biwire xl...something. weak. i am using 30 gauge magnet wire from radio shack $1.45 which blow them away. no joke...also interconnects made of same wire;home brew...very good....mapleshade makes some similar that are even better (32 gage). before you go big bucks try looking (or reading) super cable cook book from vacuumstate.com. also alot on the web. if incredible sound is what you are after....if you want to impress your freinds....i did listen to transparents $35,000 dollar pair or speaker wires....they sounded pretty good. i am running a modest system. ar-ls2mk2 with siemens gold pin/cal 15/2 anthem amp1s/mac 67/nht2.5i. good listening!

Ontario, funny you should ask. I was just wandering the same qestion. I found a used pair for a steal and have used them to replace a set of "super w/XL" I can't say that I have had the same experience as Jvr. Try the same experiment yourself and I doubt you will either. Jvr, did you just try the speaker cable? Try the whole system with Transparent. A good speaker wire is not going to fix crappy I.C.'s upstream, but Radio Shack will hide them just fine, along with alot of other details.
