Seems like Valerie Joyce could become a favorite on this site with this release on Chesky Records.

The Chesky website comparison to Cassandra Wilson is probably more accurate than my inclusion of Diana Krall. Sorry about that.

Don't know what's going on with the new one - Thunderbird. "Easy Rider" and "Poet" are killer tunes, but the rest is not up to that level. Keb Mo' crushes slide guitar on "Easy Rider", the sng simply kicks ass.
