Black-Eyed-Peas, the future of modern music?

It was hard enough with all the trauma to my eyes between the trannylicious combo of Aguilera and Fergie. Then Fergie and Slash murdered my childhood.

At least the game was decent.

"Personally, I can't stand the entire super bowl circus."

Philosophically, I am in this camp as well. But it is what it is so I just go with it.

I'm not going to say the BEPs performance set any new musical standards.

But I actually like the songs they did and the performance with the spectacle and all was fun and somewhat fresh, so I actually enjoyed it more than any other recent SB halftime show I've seen, including some of my aging classic rock heroes like McCartney, The Stones, and The Who.

I will not compare BEP to them any more than I would compare them to Ellington, Armstrong, or even Beethoven.

They are all totally different beasts from totally different ages.

THE BEP are the least of my concerns as I get older.

Reading my last post back did I mention the BEP in the same line even as those others?

Oh well, it is what it is.

The BEPs have racked up a lot of success of late. The book is still open. We'll see......

Only if you measure success by tickets and/or records sold. Your position then must also apply to Justin Bieber, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Sheryl Crow and on and on and on.

What they have in common is all are purely show and no go. In the entertainment business there's no accounting for lack of talent. It's all about promotion and the public fish eagerly stand in line to spend their money.
