Unplug or ride out the storm?
Just shut the breaker off, that is if you took the time to put the hifi on a seperate circuit. No need to unplug if the breaker is off...
Audiophile Priorities and Recent Topics
No exorbitant cables, no risers, no fuses, no springs, cables are a mess, rooms not perfect, no fancy contact cleaners....and it's all good! 😁
Cartridges with that musical coherence - having heard it, I need to learn more
Hana cartridges are the best bang for your buck out there.
My Experience With Tekton
Although I do not doubt that they may in fact sound good, I'll keep my tannoys....
What process do you use to purchase cables?
Short of buying cables at the dollar tree, I’d say most are a safe bet. Me, personally I prefer UK built and engineered cables of a modest price. In fact, most of my components are built and engineered in the UK. I happen to think that the UK prod...
Klipsch Forte ii too bright, or is it my room ?
Klipsch are harsh and grating on the ears over time...I much prefer a british designed speaker, wharfedale, tannoy, harbeth, spendor....
Are all amps being built wrong?
Both my sugden and marantz sound great....so No...
thought on eBay?
I've been a seller on ebay since 2004...sold plenty of audio gear, as well as bought...last audio component purchased was several years ago, my marantz pm14s1. It was sold by a reputable audio dealer based in New England and was a customer return....
Recommendations and thoughts for end game speakers and amps
There is absolutely no reason to spend that kind of money to achieve great sound...you would have to be insane to spend 50k or more on a pair of speakers...unless maybe your a multi millionaire, then who cares..I guess🤷🙄....even then, I would not.
Amp craftmanship/Quality
If it breaks I toss it and buy another...what's the big deal? Never have I had anything needing repair though...maybe I'm the lucky one...there are class A Sugdens still going strong after 30 years or more, untouched.
Townshend Springs under Speakers
Man...this thing is still being discussed....wow...if you needed springs, I would think the speaker manufacturer would have provided them or somehow implemented them into the design. Still ain't putting slinkies under mine. My tannoys sound great ...
Helping a friend build a new system
I would recommend the Rogue Sphinx and a pair of wharfedale speakers (diamond 225's, dentons, Lintons, etc....). All will give him a sweet and warm intimate sound. The Sphinx is a bargain and is now in its 3rd iteration, V3. Have him read the revi...
Townshend Springs under Speakers
My speakers disappear without any springs...its hogwash....save the springs for an automobile. Last time I checked, I was not driving my speakers down a bumpy road...🤪
Mono cartridge recommendation
I bought the stereo/mono switch from sweet pedals...30 bucks....however, I will at some point pick up a grado mono on the cheap.
Townshend Springs under Speakers
No slinkys under my speakers, just blue tac as an interface between speaker and stand. Spiked to solid concrete through carpet. Stands filled with atabites. Sounds good to me.
