Just how many outlets do you need for your stereo?
It is a question that cannot possibly be answered. It is dependant on what you own and what you intend to own. You could need anywhere from 4 to 20....who knows?? What is most important is not plugging the power strips/conditioners into different ...
Funny how streaming/digital still chases that analog benchmark.
Funny how a medium that has been around the longest, since 1877.... is the best.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_recording#:~:text=Inventor%20Emile%20Berliner%20created%20the....It is the standard to beat for a reason, it just plain sounds r...
Newbie question
You would be amazed how loud just one watt can be. https://youtu.be/vaiEDYB5c9M
Magico Customer service
Its called a rip off, plain and simple. Who in their right state of mind would pay that much for a speaker, let alone a driver. With all the cheaper and better looking options available, you have a choice. They price them high because some will bu...
Driver breakin period, what’s the science?
I doubt there is very much to it. It is mostly your ears getting used to the new speaker. Yes, there may be some break in happening like anything else, but no where near as long as some suggest.
Help my analog sound as good as my streaming
I think it should read, help my streaming sound as good as my analog...if your streaming sounds better, you got issues. There are many lp’s that when played through my system, create true magic. Streaming, at least to me, in comparison sounds like...
CD player reliability.... good and bad.
No problems here, all three of my players/transports work just fine...some 5 years or older...they are not my first choice to listen to music however. That would be one of many many turntables and cartridges I own.
Sota or Technics
I'd get neither, and instead buy a music hall mmf-7.3 in walnut with the 2m bronze. Alternatively, replace the bronze with a Goldring Eroica LX moving coil.
Choosing new speakers after 20 years
Some Tannoys would go great with the prima luna. They respond well to tubes. However, in looking at your budget, Tannoys may well exceed it. To save money, yet still get great sound, I’d be looking at a pair of wharfedale lintons with stands...abo...
Can't believe I let myself get sucked in again.
Wait till you get sucked into analog...an endless money pit...however worth it.
Luxman L-590AXII vs Pass Labs INT-60
Neither, get a Sugden asap.😝
Purifi Class D: Junk?
Most class D is junk, except the Rogue Sphinx and some class D Marantz, The Ruby comes to mind, as well as the pm10.
Suggest one obsure album we all should hear
Lydia Lunch, Queen of Siam. A bit of an oddity, but some very "interesting" music, to say the least. Actually featured in Stereophile. Noted for its fantastic sonics. This is of course on an LP. Just grabbed a "SEALED" copy off Ebay upon listening...
rule of thumb: how long do you leave a tube preamp on versus turning it off then back on?
Keep mine on for about 15 to 30 minutes, prior to listening....its a tavish phono preamp with small tubes of the 12ax7/12au7/5751 variety. These tubes have a much longer life span than the larger power amp tubes. I will usually turn off preamp soo...
Which VTF Scale are you using?
The 49 dollar one available on music direct. Not sure of branding, but it works well. Have the shure scale, but put away....
