Loki Max analog improvement
I got thin strips of dark navy tape on front of upper half of each knob. It can be seen across the room.
Speakers 10 years old or older that can compete with todays best,
PBN Montana XPS. Mine are circa 2007.
Testing your system
It's a balancing act. Musicality for the heart first but it has to please my ears too. Hence, for music lacking in recording quality, I use the loki max for digital sources and the Puffin for my secondary TT. My primary TT is the only source I can...
Rumors of CD Demise Exagerated? New Hegel
All mediums are equally good in my system, vinyl, CDs and streaming. Variety is the spice of life. I hope none will ever die completely.
new to streaming- help!
Keep at it, the bluesound NODE is an excellent piece of equipment and the bluos app is as reliable as it gets. When I started with bluesound streaming I had plenty of difficulties to wrap my head around but with patience I got rewarded.
Real or Surreal. Do you throw accuracy out the window for "better" sound?
I think this question is much dependent on the kind of music you like. Over my entire life I have always leaned towards heavy music, starting with rock, hard rock, prog metal and now electronic. So in my case I definitely lean real, the only way t...

Annoying trend? New vinyl equalization and compression
Shame. So glad I held on to my LPs for over 50 years. It was a real pain with every move but so worth it.
Cable management....crossing at right angles or
I remember the guy on here who used to swear by hanging wires off the floor with fishing lines tied to the ceiling. And I say that with a straight face. Best advantage out of that system is you can vacuum under the wires. Enjoy!
Specific i2s cable for use with Sonnet Morpheus DAC & 3rd party DDC
I'm a sucker, using a Tubulus Concentus I2s cable to my delight though.
DAC DIRECT IN TO AMPLIFIER OR TO PREAMPLIFIER
In the camp of preamp here. An absolute necessity to feed my amp both multiple analog and digital sources. As for sound, the wyred4sound STP-SE stage 2 is wonderful, passive until 64 db, active above. With my dac set at max volume to bypass its pr...
