Need help with Proceed AVP setup thanks! I was able to restore the factory defaults using the procedure above. Sadly, I had to do it blind as the OSD still won't show on my screen.I'll contact Richard on Monday, in the meantime, does anyone know if there's a way to disable the OS...
dumb question...I apologize Derbim, in my experience most all phono preamps have less gain than CD players. So I very much doubt too much gain will be an issue - depending on your cartridge. Also, how will you decide which LP's you'll carry to your vacation house? (now this p...
Jeff Beck "performing this week" OMG Paladia has run this several times (that I've noticed) over the last few weeks. You may check the listings to see when it runs again. As for Imogen Heap's performance, I had never hear her before this DVD. I immediately bought her CD "Speak for you...
4 Ohm Speaker with an "8 Ohm Minimum" Reciever Sfar, my bet is the lamp cord had a short
4 Ohm Speaker with an "8 Ohm Minimum" Reciever I drove a pair of 4 ohm bookshelf speakers for years with various "8 ohm minimum" receivers with no adverse consequence.I was always careful not to crank it, but with a small box speaker I doubt it will stress the receiver much at all.
Is my phono stage stuffed . . . respectfully disagree. Why would you replace a part that only requires cleaning? If you spend a ~$100 to replace the selector switch (if that is indeed what's wrong) it's no less susceptible to getting dirty again than the cleaned one.
Is my phono stage stuffed I have a NuVista preamp and at one time the selector switch was causing a similar problem. It was resolve when I opened up the preamp and gave the switch a shot of cleaner. (this issue also happened with a marantz preamp I had years ago). The only ...
Are singers musicians? There are musicians, and some are professional, others amateur. Some musicians are great musicians, others are merely good, and then there are bad, very bad, and awful . . .Maybe there's a spot in there for Yoko, and Johnny Rotten
In the Air tonight DRUMS - phil collins on LP Collins is a hell of a drummer. I'll never understand why he gets no respect from some people.I agree. He's one of my favorite drummers.
Are singers musicians? The human voice conveys pitch like any other instrument. Singers must understand and apply music theory like any other instrumentalist. The great ones do this to a high level. It's true that some singers don't have the second part of the above. But...
Availability protocol? "is it still available" is a perfectly valid initial question. For items that are somewhat in demand you will receive multiple offers, often quickly. It's not unusual for me to commit to a buyer, but while I'm waiting for payment I will not yet mar...
Best HT starter system? for speakers, think used. You should search the archives here for recommendations in your budget range. Now and then you can find Vandersteen 2C listed for ~$400 or so. Some older Paradigm may be a good value too (I have an old pair of Paradigm 7s...
best source for guitar amp tubes I've had good service from http://www.tubedepot.com/index.html and their prices are generally lower than others. I also really like http://eurotubes.com/. They specialize in guitar amps. Contrary to the name, they are in the US (Oregon or Washingt...
Turntable/ Cartridge Analysis/Setup try Bill Thalmann at http://www.musictechnology.com/. He may offer this service, though they are primarily a repair business. He's very good, and I purchased a used turntable from him, as well as a tonearm.
warped lp's I flattened my Ron Carter LP today. I used 2 12x12 granite tiles purchased from home depot ($5.49 each). One side is polished, the other rough. I pre-heated my oven to 200 degrees F. I Sandwiched the LP between the tiles and I used no fasteners or... |
