Weird Speaker Placement Configurations
I have 2 rooms set up with a diagonal placement and it's worked out fantastic. If you check my system page you can see one of my rooms with speakers set on about a 20% plane to the back wall. I recently set up a small room system (in my son's form...
Totem Arros and 40 watts.
Sttafs are 8 ohms, and a couple hundred $ more than the arros.
Totem Arros and 40 watts.
Not the Arros, but I'm powering Sttafs with a TAD 60 amp set in Triode mode which is ~30 w/c. It's plenty of power. My room is 12x12 though. In a room 15x20 the Arros will get lost unless you have a Sub.

Install IEC male socket or not??
a slightly more attractive alternative is to get one of these. I have used these in a few situations but don't like the pig tale dangling. They can be as effective as a flush mount IEC though, and super easy to install. Parts Connexion use to stoc...
Install IEC male socket or not??
I've done this on many pieces of equipment, but would like to find the "appropriate" punch ? I would too. I have a punch set I bought at Harbor Freight - but it only does round holes (you see these on ebay too). The set cost $15 and it includes 4...
How to hook up 2 amps from one set of pre outs?
a Y connector is fine. Another alternative is if your Sub has hi level inputs (as most subs do) you can connect it to your amp using those. Your sub may also have pre-outs that incorporate the Sub's x-over, and you can connect your 4150se using th...
worth upgrading from REL Storm to REL Storm III?
My Storm MkI also have dual connection (hi and low)actually 3 including balance input.true, but as far as I know, you can't use both high and low inputs at the same time. The crossover on the mk III allows you to drive the LFE using low level inpu...
worth upgrading from REL Storm to REL Storm III?
I would say probably yes, I had a Storm and Storm III at the same time. I've since sold the Storm (didn't need an extra sub). The Storm is a great sub for the money they go for used, but the Storm III is somewhat better. If you're using it for hom...
Install IEC male socket or not??
I've installed IEC connectors in multiple vintage amps, and some of them I've sold with no concern from sellers or apparent impact to value (ie anything it was a benefit). I was completely open about the fact I added them and that I did it myself....
Need a little help, New to Vinyl
I also agree with the Belari. I had one some time ago, and while it wasn't right for me, I think it's an excellent solution for you situation. The only suggestion is if you go that way, make sure your cartridge has adequate output voltage and/or y...
New integrated for Totem
My advice is something with Tubes. A 30 w/c tube amp is plenty for the Sttafs.I'm on my second pair of Sttafs. The first pair I sold ~2 years ago when I upgraded to Mani-2s. I recently bought another pair for a small room system I set up. I'm driv...
Guitar's...what do the audionuts play?
I have 2 Strats, 2 Teles, a Gibson Les Paul Studio (natural Cherry), 2 Brian Moore i2000's (i2 and i9f) and a couple of ES335 clones (Cort/Samick). I only have one acoustic - it's a decent Takamine - but I want to get another good acoustic. I play...
Has anyone heard or tried Proceed Pre& krell kst
I'm not familiar with the Krell amp, but I own a Proceed Pre. There's not much posted about this preamp, and what there is (that I've found), isn't highly complementary. I bought mine as a package with a Proceed Amp2 off ebay. When I first played ...
Turntable - On the Wall or to the Floor?
unless your stand is on a solid concrete slab floor, I would mount it on the wall. I have suspended hardwood floors on the main level of my home that are pretty spring due to the engineered truss system the builder used. I can't walk across the fl...
