Terence Balanchard - recommendation
I've been buying every Terence Blanchard release I can find since finding Tale of God's Will. It's one of the best albums I've picked up this year, and still one of my favorites in my collection.
AC or DC Motor? how do I know - Gyrodec
I'm not familiar with your TT, but if you have an AC motor you'll more than likely have a normal AC power cord with an inboard power supply. If DC, you'll more than likely have a wall-wart or other outboard power supply. If you do have a wall-wart...
Anyone heard Christian Scott, new trumpeter?
ok, I just ordered Rewind That too. . . . thanks!
Anyone heard Christian Scott, new trumpeter?
After seeing your post I ordered his CD "Anthem". It was delivered last week and I listened to it for the first time over the weekend. I really like Trumpet led jazz and have a big collection of releases by Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Whee...
Top 5 guitar jams
I'm not sure what I'd put in positions 2-5, but my all time fav is Duane Allman (with Boz Scaggs on rythm - "Loan Me a Dime" from Boz Scaggs fist album. After that, probably "Layla" and "Stairway to Heaven".
Highly Recommended CHILL OUT CDs???
Here's a new one:Klaus Schulze and Lisa Gerrard - "Farscape"It's a new release (August 2008) 2 disc CD and amazing. I just got mine yesterday and have only had a chance to listen to disc I, but it alone is worth the $14.99 I paid. It has those gre...
Different ways to Biwire speakers
the VR4 Geniii manual says you should use a jumper only as a temporary solution. Bi-wiring them is the correct connection. Further, TVAD's recollection is correct, you should connect the wire to the mid/tweeter module, and the jumper down from that.
Highly Recommended CHILL OUT CDs???
"Electronic Realizations for Rock Orchestra" - Synergy good call . . . Larry Fast (aka Synergy) recorded multiple albums and they are all great, though a little higher energy than the reference recording.
Shorting plugs....
well . . . I have multiple inputs on my preamp because I routinely switch between CD and Phono (I actually only need 2 inputs, but my pre has 4, so I short the unused 2). I'm just not willing to go to the inconvenience of unplugging my phono when ...

Shorting plugs....
I've tried RCA shorting plugs as well as non-shorting caps on the open inputs of one preamp I was having noise floor problems with. Note, you don't want to short open output connectors, only inputs. I noticed very little though some improvement. I...
Dynaco/SS Bi-amp w/ Von Schweikert query
I have the VR4geniii's and tried to biamp in a similar way. I used a SS amp on the bass units, and a TAD 60 on the mid/tweets. The TAD 60 has a volume pot and when wide open it's more sensitive (ie louder) than my SS amp (Eagle 4). It seemed like ...
I need an economical but good phono preamp?
I recently picked up a Musical Fidelity X-LPS and am very impressed. I paid
What connectors for DIY cable?
These Belkins are great for DIY. They use a set screw to attach, and will take a 12 gauge cable. Also, if you buy one of these sets, the Spade connectors unscrew from the ends and you can change them to these BFA Banana connector which is convenie...
