Blues from the 50s/60s/70s
If I were to pick one to start with, I would go for Muddy Waters 'Folk Singer.'I agree, and the Chess records version has amazing sonics, better than most MFSL records I have (from other artists). Sadly, a lot of great early performer's recordings...
Rega Hal - preamp outs
if you flip your preamp over (bottom up) you'll see 4 hex key cap screws. You need to remove them, then flip the pre back over and lift the top half of the die-cast shell off (it separates at the middle seam). Do this carefully so you don't scratc...
Can a sub be hooked up to speaker posts?
When hooked up this way with rels how much of a load will be put on the amp.virtually no load. The Rel has a very high impedance, and it has its own power amp and not using the amp for power, so its its effect on the amp is negligible.
Oil for TT bearing - any advise?
I use 30W Mobile One.
Can a sub be hooked up to speaker posts?
One thought that occurred to me is if your amp is a fully balanced design, then you would NOT want to connect your sub this way (contrary to my previous statement). In this case you need to connect the Sub ground lead to a chassis ground point and...
Can a sub be hooked up to speaker posts?
So, instead of running the sub from the amp, it would be amp, to speaker to sub.it's implied in your statement you're using hi level connections for your sub, so yes, this is the same as connecting to the amp, except you have a little section of s...
Invalid zip codes in classifieds..
when I encounter this problem I just click on the Google link and it will show you a map where the zip is.
Highly Recommended CHILL OUT CDs???
I had not heard, nor hear of BLISS before your post, but after a quick listen, (I really like it) here's some I have that are similar:Global Communication - "76.14" (this is very similar to "Quiet Letters")The Future Sound of London - "Lifeforms" ...
preamp with only 1 set of pre-outs: adding sub....
I connect my sub using high level inputs connected to my power amps. I find it far better. But if you want to use pre-outs, the y connector is the way to go.
Need to downgrade any advice??
I want to get at least 1000 to 1500 from downgrading if possible. You think it's possible? I'm not sure of the used value of everthing you have, but if you sell - Europas - $500-600, SP3 - $500-$600, and buy something else, you can't get much and ...
New Adcom GFA-555 se - Special Edition
welcome to audiogon Power_hungry. I apologize for misinterpreting your motives and post. Certainly there's nothing wrong with expressing excitement about a new, and/or old product.
Decca London Gold cartridge nightmare
I have a Super Gold too, that I purchased from Warren. You may want to call him and describe your problem. I had the same conversation with Warren as Dubhouse and Dopogue when I bought mine. I've tried mine on multiple arms (Rega RB300, Linn Ittok...
Anyone ever tried 2x100Watt Bi-Amp Vs 200 Watt
I run the front r/l speakers in my home theater vertically biamped using 2 Electron Kinetics Eagle 4 amps (they're 2 ch @125 w/c). This configuration is far better than any other I've tried (and all other amps too. (see my system page "media room ...
New Adcom GFA-555 se - Special Edition
Mjcmt, my comment and observation is this post is the first evidence of Power_Hungry's existence (he joined A'gon the day he posted it), and it's worded as a blatant adcom commercial, not a query for input. It appears to me he's an Adcom salesman....
Seeking Knopfler's Night in London in VCD
Amazon.com has them on DVD, and many of their sub-agents offer them too. Pretty abundant on DVD. Forgive me, is VCD different than DVD?It's a great show, sadly only a 2.0 audio track, though for this show (laid back in your living room) is probabl...
