McIntosh MC 2250,how is it? I bought a MC-2250 recently. It has 250wpc only 499 were made. It has a THD of 0.09%, if I remember correctly. I have it powering a pair of Polk Audio RTi A9 towers that can handle 500 watts. It sounds great!!
Can a McIntosh MC7205 handle Polk Audio RTi A9’s? After listening to the A9’s for about a month, I’m very impressed by them! They are running from my McIntosh MC7205 amp at 120w ea and they sound beautiful!! They wake up at around 45w, they kick in to another level at 60w. Over 70watts and the ...

McIntosh amp choice I bought a McIntosh MC-7205. I have the MC58 bridged to power two RTi a3’s and the MC7205 is powering a pair of RTi A9’s Front, a RTi a6 center and a pair of TSi 500’s surround. Sounds great, but haven’t had chance to let em sing loud yet.
Can a McIntosh MC7205 handle Polk Audio RTi A9’s? I received the Polk audio RTi A9s today played hotel California from Hell Freezes Over and Tea for the Tillerman on sacd and they sound fantastic!! The McIntosh MC 7205 is powering them nicely, at least I should never blow these speakers out. Wh...
Can a McIntosh MC7205 handle Polk Audio RTi A9’s? The only speakers I want biamped are the 2 RTiA9s. They are rated at 500w each.
Two amps to power 7.1 speakers? You had me, then ya lost me. I thought I was to run the pos and neg speaker cable from the bridged MC58 to the pos and neg on the HF speaker ports and the pos and neg from the mc7205 to the pos and neg LF ports. Why would I need a ‘Y’ interconnect?
Two amps to power 7.1 speakers? I like that idea!! This way I’m not ‘wasting’ the mc58, I really hate to give up, this utilizes both amps and boosts the power to the RTi A9’s. Now, I would connect the speaker cables from the amp with more power to the the (3) 7” woofers, correc...
Two amps to power 7.1 speakers? The MC 58 is only 30w/ch and 100w/ch bridged. I’m not sure how to vertical bi-amp. Too bad the MC7205 can’t be bridged. I spoke with a technician at McIntosh about bi-amping the MC58 with the MC7205 to help power the A9’s because they’re known ...
Can a McIntosh MC7205 handle Polk Audio RTi A9’s? If I used my mac58 bridged to send 100w to the HF terminals and my Mac7205 for the LF terms on the RTi A9s and the surrounds. Would that work and would it give me more power for the Polk RTiA9s?
Can a McIntosh MC7205 handle Polk Audio RTi A9’s? I checked out bi-amping briefly. Tell me if I’m wrong. I can biamp channel 1 & 2 and channels 3 & 4 to the RTi A9’s’ and channel 5 to the center RTi a6. I can use my MC-58 bridged to power the TSi 500s surrounds and the remaining 2 channe...
Can a McIntosh MC7205 handle Polk Audio RTi A9’s? Thanks for all the advice. I read where the 7205 can’t be bridged, but how would I bi-amp them? I guess I got myself in a pickle. I upgraded from a McIntosh MC58 bridged to 100w/ch that was powering a pair of TSi 500’s and I have to turn up the v...
Help connecting a receiver to my McIntosh MX136 preamp The only reason I wanted the Marantz is for 4K video, but you’re right, it isn’t a big deal. I won’t get the Mac7205 until this Wednesday, I’m using a Mac58 right now. Thank you for your information.
Help connecting a receiver to my McIntosh MX136 preamp I already have two Oppo’s 83 and 103d. If I buy another component my wife would kill me. I just upgraded my entire HT. |
