Why is science just a starting point and not an end point?
To repeat this is the starting point and END point of nothing but science. Sound reproduction is science, not mysticism.
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point?
You're unable to comprehend what was written or being intentionally obtuse. Noone is debating digital storage, lasers , laptops, smart phones. PET, MRI etc.. those are not the "esoteric" boundaries of QM those are the practical results of years of...
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point?
Science is the starting point and it is the end point in audio reproduction. Science is what gave us the medium and tools to enjoy music from the wax cylinder to digital storage and on to processes unknown. It won't be brain dead audiophiles argui...

Where have you gotten this notion audio equipment can’t be analyzed at levels audible to humans and actually even bats but I doubt it does them much good. We can test equipment to tell us how much noise and distortion is present in certain frequen...

Look at Prof's post above then read the book mentioned. Nobody's hearing is reliable enough.

Test tones also shows how equipment performs at listening levels but don't let reality get in your way.
Received a Bill for State Tax on An Amp Bought in Canada Last Year
If it crosses the state line then it has a connection to the state unless you're advocating for a more federal system without state borders. If you find the laws of the state you're in onerous then change them or move. How about you move to a red ...
Received a Bill for State Tax on An Amp Bought in Canada Last Year
Isn't all this terrible left wing money grab the OP is talking about happening in the Good Ole Boy state of Tennessee? What's California got to do with taxes this Red State is stealing from it's fine upstanding citizens?
What process did you use to integrate multiple subwoofers for 2 channel listening?
Not to many speakers do full range. The JTR Noesis 215RT is one perhaps some of the big JBL cinema 3 ,4 or 5 ways. They still would need DSP in my opinion.
Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what?
The questions the OP asked was will all other amps fade away, no I don’t think so, is class D poised to take over, if having close to 90% of the amplifier market is considered taking over then yes it already has. It’s not what your preferences are...

Yes, and they both use class D amps.
What process did you use to integrate multiple subwoofers for 2 channel listening?
Low ceiling is a challenge the first consideration would be get a speaker with a very narrow vertical dispersion and have the listening position nearfield.
Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what?
Class D has already taken over.  There are more class D amps sold than all the rest combined  by far and their market share is growing while the rest is shrinking. I'm sure boutique brands will be available to those that want them.
Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what?
It'll be the end of the world as we know it.
New Speakers $10K -$20K
You'll get good advice from Matthew Poe, you might ask him about Perlisten speakers or Revel.
