need help with outdoor system
DLNA is a protocol that lets one media system talk to another wirelessly. Many receivers have it, . JRiver can connect to a DLNA server. However, I am not sure that a DLNA server on your receiver (if it has that capbility) can then deliver the aud...
need help with outdoor system
Is the Denon a DLNA device? If so, it may be possible to connect your JRiver system to it and control it with JRmmote. I would have to think about how to to do that, but it may be possible with Jriver. Now about a simple PC laptop hooked to the De...

Here is another somewhat different solution. Bluetooth speakers have become pretty popular and can be pretty decent these days. You can use Jremote to access your files from inside to play on the iPad, hopefully using your wifi connection, or you ...
need help with outdoor system
First, where is the hot tube? Is it just on the deck attached to the house or is it separated from the house? How easy would it be to get wires to it?Sounds like you just want a pair of speakers by the hot tube with Jremote to control the source. ...
Lovan audio racks....and other racks.....
I have Lovan racks and think they are great, especially the availability of different heights. However, be warned, delivery time can be very long on some items. So, if you want to go that route, check the delivery times.

I have only seen these in the store, but they are an interesting option. We have stereo speakers by out hot tube, run from the main system indoors. But we actually run a mono signal to them because it is hard to get them to "image" correctly for e...
3 channel sound
I think you can set up 3 channel using most avrs by just specifying that you do not have rear speakers in the setup. You will need to provide a digital signal to the receiver unless your avr digitizes analog signals. You can use Dolby Digital, NEO...
Thiel CS1.7 loudspeaker
Doggiehowser - I agree that the 3.7 is worth that price, although I believe it is up $3K since introduction. And maybe the 1.7 and 2.7 will also be worth their prices. I am just concerned that they have jumped the price so much and left a hole at ...
Thiel CS1.7 loudspeaker
I called Thiel. The current price is $9,900 but will drop shortly to $8,000. It seems like they initially set the price at $9,900 and then had second thoughts. I think the same thing happened with the 1.7.
Thiel CS1.7 loudspeaker
I got the $8K price for the 2.7 from the new review in the absolute sound. That figure is in the text and in the specs section. I also looked at the Crutchfield price and it is indeed $9,900. I also say the $9,900 price in other places. Someone po...
Thiel CS1.7 loudspeaker
I have not looked at the 1.6, 2.4 prices is a couple of years, but it seems like the 1.7 price is a big increase from the 1.6 and the 2.7 is a big increase from the 2.4 The 1.6 was in the mid $2s and the 2.4 in the mid $4s last I looked. Looks lik...
Thiel CS1.7 loudspeaker
With the 2.7 at $7999, the prices have certainly gone up. The SCS4T always seemed like a temporary fill in product.
Best AV processors for under $10K
Got it. That makes sense. Thanks.
Best AV processors for under $10K
Jdub39 - Not sure I followed that. Are you saying you listen to 2 channel DSD with no conversion but you also take your 2 channel DSD and convert it to 5.1 and add room correction? And that you prefer the converted 5.1 with room correction? If so,...
PSAudio in trouble?
The Teac UD-501 has been getting some strong support on CA. Check out that thread. Have not heard it. It also does DSD.
