Magico Q7 . . . wow Usermanual - the Q3, and especialy the Q5, are very difficoult to drive. Their very comlex crossovers may be part of it. I'm not sure if any tube amp will drive them properly, not to mention 27W SET Ongaku or Nagra 845.I have heard them many times...
Audiogon sellers, please stop and read this thread The best way is to make a phone call to the seller. Chat about his present and past gear, his impressions on the product etc. Within minutes you will know if the seller is a genuine audiophile or a scam artist.

Magico Q7 . . . wow IMO the best sounding Magicos were the little V2s. The M5s were also good, but very expensive. Somehow the new Q3/Q5 sound too analytical and too sterile for my taste.
Pubul57- audiophile, philosopher, and friend This is sad news indeed. Paul was a great asset to AudiogoN family. Always read his posts with great interest. Condolences to family and friends. May he RIP.
Meridian 508.24 CD plyer. Is it really that good? Yes, it is very good, but nowadays you can get much better sonics from $1200 DACs - Metrum Octave and Teddy Pardo DAC are prime examples.

Ticking noise in Audio Research Reference CD7 Amuseb - must be a left over. There is very little you can do to damage the transport mech. Worst case scenario, you can get a brand new CD-Pro2 transport mechanism from any shop that carries them in EU, and replace it by yourself. It is an easy 10...
Ticking noise in Audio Research Reference CD7 Did you expose the mechanism completely ? You need to take the player's top lid off first, then the square black metal element that covers the mechanism (it is beeing hold by 4 screws), and then the black plastic part that covers the rails (it is ...
Is Bryson BDA-1 still up to date. BDA-1 is still a great sounding DAC. The lack of 24/192 USB input is the only limitation. Even so, you can get yourself an excellent MF V-Link 192 USB/SPDIF converter to play HD files from your computer.
Benefits of MF V-Link with a Mac-based system? Many ppl claimed much improved sonics when using V-Link, and especially V-Link 192, with Rega DAC. To the reasons stated above, I would also add the posibility to play HD files. Rega USB input is limited to standard, 16/48kHz resolution. V-Link wi...
