Replace Silver interconnect cable , please advice
Again, the cheapest tweek is to move the couch back, toe-in the spkrs and have a listen. Unless you already know the Focals are the problem. :)
Hinky Remote controls: Can they be re- calibrated?
Dtc...appreciate the info. I don't understand why, but this is a common complaint among owners of Rogue's entry to mid level units. I even asked my dealer about it when I was demoing preamps in the showroom and he didn't have an answer.BTW, the 2 ...
Hinky Remote controls: Can they be re- calibrated?
Are you talking about Rogue? Their remotes move the volume in steps, even though the volume control is motorized and when used locally, it moves smoothly. Many users complain about the remote; it raises volume in increments of a couple dB at a tim...
Anti static guns
Mattmiller...is Gruv Glide for cleaning the only the surface of a record? It does not clean inside the grooves, correct?
Anti static guns
I was starting to doubt that my Discwasher Zerostat was working properly, after all, it's 20 years old. So I tried Zavato's test and got a shock, but still, does that prove it will remove static from a record? The old tried and true test of using ...
System too bassy - Primaluna & Usher
Brilliant, AL. Looking at the impedance curve, your solution makes so much sense.

"Biwire to resolve bass issues.."Agree, Mapman. This is not the root of the problem; spkr placement and room acoustics are the most plausible cause. But since the OP is looking for an upgrade in cables as well, some used Kimbers would improve defin...

Biwiring does sound better in some situations, really depends on the amp and the crossovers in the spkrs, might be worth a try since the amp would be driving the bass and the high loads separately. Sorry, don't know about prices; Google some Kimbe...

Biwire is only possible with a bi-wire capable speaker. 2 sets of terminals are on the back of the speaker, one pair for the woofer, and one pair for the tweeter. I see your spkrs have these. At the amp end there is one L and R connector and at the...
What CD sound is the best?
Played my original release "In the Court of..." LP today and I'm ready to move up to the new remaster. There's also a 30th anniversary single disk remaster of "Red," maybe I should wait to see if they release a new remaster.Great info, Tomcy6. Thos...

So your source may not be a good match for your system, but don't start buying new gear yet. First try different placement of gear and sofa. Al pointed out possible bass suck-out; can you move the sofa close to the rear wall and toe-in the speaker...
What CD sound is the best?
"particularly in king crimson 'court of the...' it's never outperformed an original release."Are you talking about vinyl? As far as CDs, everyone is recommending the 40th Anniversary remaster above all other other versions.

Deetothevee, once you have found a spkr position that works, you can have a listening session and then push the spkrs back toward the wall when SHE gets home. I'm single, and my spkrs are out into the room, but when I have company over, they're ba...

I agree; when you're alone pull them out 3 ft. (really exaggerate the position) and see how they sound. Herbie's has a solution for moving speakers away from the wall during listening sessions...http://herbiesaudiolab.net/spkrfeet.htmLook at the "...

Thanks Mapman, you answered my question. Specifically in regard to clipping.
