Bedroom system for my 10 year old son
Buy yourself a new computer, give him your old one, and run out of it into an NAD 3020 and on to your NHTs. He can dump everything in his ipod into the computer and he'll have a headphone jack and phono inputs if this should lead in that direction...
Is too much power in an amp really a problem?
Kijanki - It appears that I missed your deadline. For next time it would be helpful to know where you are.Guido - You describe food with the same lascivious glee as Hannibal Lector. That makes me wary of your menu.
Is too much power in an amp really a problem?
Yes. Prefer toasted sesame oil.And I suspect you are aware that most others do not live as you do.Do you deliver, Guido? I'm not willing to travel.
Is too much power in an amp really a problem?
I bought my PC-1 at the same time I bought the Capri and 102. I hooked them all up together. I have never compared them to anything else. I have never listened without the PC-1. The 102 does not see anything below 400 Hz. I have a Perreaux PMF 185...
Is too much power in an amp really a problem?
After you have thoroughly examined my posting history, please note that I use a Rowland Capri into a dbx Drive Rack and out to a Rowland 102 amplifier driving 108 db horns. I have a slight rushing sound from the dbx. When I bypass it and go straig...
Klipschorn placement and power question
Your shop is as big as a movie theater. Use pro gear. It seems foolish to put nice wooden cabinets in that environment. You need a sizable truck -- the K-horns are a car with a big trunk.
Jeff Rowland Model 501 - Help ...
I'm very skeptical of these results. I have a Rowland Capri preamp and 102 amp stacked next to my Kenwood KT-917 tuner and sitting beneath a Panasonic plasma TV, which hangs on the wall above and behind. The amp is 7 inches from the tuner and abou...
Looking for basshorns
Thanks for your responses so far. Marty, The girl thing is cute and may actually live up to the lofty claims but I can't afford and couldn't house it anyway. I have spoken with Johnk in the past and may again in the future. I don't build cabinets ...
What's wrong? Nuforce/Capri no better than Sunfire
Jeff - You have wasted enough time on Rowland and Nuforce. Get rid of that stuff before the word gets out about Sunfire. Once that happens, the separates won't be worth a plugged nickel. However, gambler that I am, I'll take them off your hands fo...
Speaker Technology over the last 10 years
I agree with Trelja and I will take it a step further by suggesting that our modern American products, for the most part, are designed to perform well on the sales charts and not necessarily in the area where they function. Products in these times...
Any vets among the Audiophiles here?
He's wolfish. A spitz breed like Huskies, Malamutes, Samoyeds. More feral certainly than your basic boxer or spaniel. And much more dangerous, but no wolf. I'm sure they'd take him down in a short minute. On the original topic, now that I realize w...
Any vets among the Audiophiles here?
Bummer. I completely misinterpreted the heading. I was going to ask advice concerning my Akita.
What's wrong? Nuforce/Capri no better than Sunfire
The simple answer is - if you don't hear it, then it isn't there. When I was selling audio equipment back in the third century, I realized that people were more apt to notice what you take away than what you add. When you remove the other pieces a...
How far away is your Nirvana
I'm there.
What matters most in speaker design?
Price point, veneer, review, ad campaign, scuttlebutt, endorsements, gimmicky technological storyline, designer's pedigree, country of origin, power handling capability, and envy factor. Not everyone will agree on the order of importance among the...
