Why does USB feature so much in discussions about DACs when the newer HDMI seems better? @2psyop how audio file is different from Excel spreadsheet. What is special in 'audio' bit packets over Internet.
Why does USB feature so much in discussions about DACs when the newer HDMI seems better? @rbstehno what is wrong with USB? Is external hard drive losing bits?
Borresen X3 measurements So would anyone buy a car that measures badly. Like does not brake well (speaker ringing) or sometimes does not accelerate (11 dB dips). For a 'character'?
Borresen X3 measurements IF speaker measures badly, but compensates the amp, combination may be fine. Say, marry bright speakers with rolling off highs of tube amp and get the neutral sounding system.

Friends hi-fi system not very good, what do you do or say? So what? They like it and it is all that matters. 90% of people have audio systems in untreated living rooms, should we suggest them put bass traps around? Do they listen to the same music as we do?

Home network router question @deep_333 No, they are not. This just shows you know little about even the modulation. Which is not voltage at all, btw. People moved on from AM days. TOSLINK is a laughable comparison to Ethernet. Which is completely different and does not lose a...

DAC connection to computer USB. No one yet explained any physical concepts of "bad sounding" PC. You can use reclock/DDC if you are really concerned with "noise" coming from the PC.
Physical degradation of CD's @asctim - any computer drive still reads and writes CDs. As do BD players. |
