Where are you buying new vinyl? I have bought most of my new vinyl online -SoundStageDirect.com. A few B&M stores in HOuston carry new vinyl but not as good of a selection. I have bought a few LPs from my local BB - what selection they had was good.
Rega TT PSU..... one or two buttons ? The TTPSU for my P7 has two buttons on the front - right one is power, left one id 33/45 rpm mode. Button out (red light) = 33; button in (green light) = 45.Although P3-24 with TTPSU will be close to a basic P5, I would opt for the P5 and add TTPS...
Rega P5 owners Defintely, TTPSU - worth the $350.
I need a turntable, only have $450 to spare... I concur with a used Rega P3 - a very good entry table. Add a Rega exact cartridge and you will be good to go. These are easy to setup, hassle free.
Cherry finish that matches the new B&W 683 Why not choose a B&W650 in cherry?
upgrade path from Dynaudio 52SE Stricken, My amp is beefy enough for the 52SEs. It is 500w/8ohm and 1000w/4ohm - more than the 52SE can handle.I have tried repostioning my sub and it helped emminsely. My room is not the best either - 12W x 20L x 8H with wood floors and is open o...
upgrade path from Dynaudio 52SE I don't understand the Rotel hatred on this board. It may be mid-fi stuff but I have tried listening comparisons with Parasound, Classe, BAT, Mac and Krell - all 3-5X the cost of my Rotel gear. There was improvement but not to the tune of $8000+. ...
B&W 705 question They can be repaired on your own. Try scotch tape to pull out the dents or one of those vacuum contraptions that suck air out of plastic storage bags.
opinions on the Rega Limited Edition white belt Would the P7 & P9 require two belts? They currently employ dual belts in black.
Rega P7 TT tweaks Thank you for your honest comments and suggestions. I do have the Rega Tungsten heavyweight (125g?) - I needed that for use with the DV20X H. I did not feel comfortable with the standard weight all the way to the end of the stub (due to wt of the ...
Rotel RX 1052 with B&W 703's and a B&W 750 Sub Iff the 1052 has preout jacks on the back then hook your sub up suing those and then the olume control on the back of the sub can be used. Run you 703s full frequency and set your sub roll off/xover to 10 db above where the 703s start to roll off....
Rega ttpsu upgrade A resounding yes - a great upgrade for a P3.
Rega P7 dimensions? I used an Exact with my P5 and was very pleased with the overal character of the cartridge. Once I moved up to the P7 my dealer suggested the Dynavector DV20X H which I am also very happy with. The Exact is now my backup for my P7. I do like the t...
Which entry level phono stage, Graham Slee or Pro- I have hte Graham Slee Era Gold IV and am very pleased with it. I bought it as a demo model. If you decide on a phono stage you will do yourself justice by upgrading your cartridge too. The stage will only sound as good as your cartridge.
Good reciever to buy with phono stage A standard onboard phono pre is OK for the entry level tables. If you plan on stepping up the audiophile ladder later on with a +$2000 TT then it may be prudent to forgo your onboard and get a seperated phono pre. I was using the phono pre on my R... |
