Canton or Sonus Faber The speakers and stands retailed for $7000 ($5800 + $1200)- I was able to work it down to $5200 with tax ot the door.
Canton or Sonus Faber I shopped many months for a replacement for my Dynaudio 52SE speakers. I ended up getting a pair of the Sonus faber Cremona M Auditors + stands. I had listened to various Dynaudio models (1.4S, C1, Special 25) and other (Vienna Acoustic, B&W, ...
Looking for a compact speaker w/ some low end kick Dynaudio Audience 52SE - should be able to get a used set for $800 w/o stands. Although specs say they reach down to 45Hz right positioning will convince you they reach much lower.
Amp for Sonus Faber Cremona - old model I currenlty have some Cremona Auditor Ms and I use a McIntosh C2300 pre and MC252 amp and am very staified and have stopped my upgraditis. IF I were to upgrade again I would step up to the MC501 monoblocks, but at htis time it does not deem as a n...
Best sounding Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" I second the Japanese pressing. Listened to it last night.
Best Tubes results for McIntosh C2300 I suggest the Telefunkens for the phono section (MM or MC) and the reissued Tung Sol gold pins for the line stage. Will be rolling mine soon, too, with this setup
Rega P3-24 help required.Right Ch. Distortion I need to work around the marble - it is the 'top' on the cabinet - can't ditch it. Many users have employed heavy, dense materials in use for isolation - granite bases for TT, speakers, amps etc. Why not marble?
Rega P3-24 help required.Right Ch. Distortion Although I have my Rega P7 on a marble-topped console I can still get feedback by just lightly tapping the door to the console. I sure would have thought my TT would be isolated on a marble slab. I am now looking at various ways to isolate better....
Rega P3-24 help required.Right Ch. Distortion Sounds like yo might be expereincing feedback through your cartridge when the volume is high. Location and isolation are very important with analogue playback. Get TT away from speakers and on a solid surface - a wall mount would be best.
Beatles Re-issues on vinyl It is currently being worked on. They do not want to rush the release if it is not all AOK Not really sure if they will use the remastered digital files (I hope not)to cut the master disks. Needs to be ananlogue all the way.
Mcintosh C-2300 first impressions I am repeating what was explained to me by current C500 owners and dealer that was once a C2300 owner. With the C500 you get the flexibility of the separate power supply and balanced outs but I beleive you give up tone controls vs the C2300. The p...
McIntosh and focal/jmlab The MA7000 is a very fine integrated. I beleive the amp section is the same as the MC252 amp, which I have. I was a devout anti-McIntosh early in my audiophile-dom but have bee converted once I sat and heard what it was all about. Besides, made in...
Mcintosh C-2300 first impressions I worked my way up from Rotel to a McIntosh C2200 and was totally blown away by the shear openess that I was hearing - natural musical sounds without the veil of color added. I has my c2200 for approx 5 months and was made a very good deal on a C2...
Upgrading Rotel RCD-1072 I am in the same boat as you - upgrading a RCD-1072. I have auditioned the Rega Saturn (because of rebate/trade-in - dealer will sell for $1550 with trade in) and a Bryston BCD-1 (very nice, dealer will sell for $2100 w/trade-in). The Rotel is a t... |
