Dynaudio Audience 52SE vs. Contour S1.4 I compared the two models when looking for a set of monitors for my analog setup. I was able to pick up the 52SE & Stand4 stands fo $1100 - the selling point for me. To get the Contours and stands would have been twice as much. I did not hear ...
Speaker recommendations Check *Bay for some Dynaudio 52SE. An excellent speaker for the $$ - will require stands though. I bought a pair for my analogue setup and the Dynaudio Stand4. I got them both (speakers & stand) for $1100 shipped. The 52SE area discontinued it...
New Rotel "15" Series I hope you mean B&W subs and not Rotel - although they are bot part of the B&W Group. I have a Rotel RB-1070 (analogue) and RB-1092 (digital). Both have their signature sound - I prefer the Class D RB-1092 but would love to replace my RB-1...
best 'affordable' turntable with moving coil cart My suggestion would be a used Rega P3 with a Sumiko Blue Point ($299).
Phono preamp suggestions While I was shopping for a phono stage I was looking at most of the models you have listed but I decided to go with a Graham Slee Era Gold Mk V. One reason I did is becuase my dealer allowed me to take it home to demo before buying. I was looking ...
What is the Phono stage you have finished with? I was using the onboard phono stage on my Rotel RC-1082 preamp - was pleased with the performance until I TRIED a Graham Slee Era Gold Mk V. Made a sonic difference for the better. I had been researching the pluses of a seperate phono stage becaus...

Rega Drive Pulley Issue The folks at Sound Organization have always been more than helpful to me when I have had questions/problems. They even invited me to visit their location Dallas when I visit family in the Big D. They even follow up on a timely basis to be sure I a...
Record Clamp for Rega P5? I also use a Michell 'R' on my Rega P7, but only for warped records (only helps when warp is concave - a periphery ring is needed for the convex side).
Best Rock Albums in 2009, so far Robbie's debut is defintely a classic LP to have. BTW, his remastering of The Last Waltz is superb.
DLP lamps My 57" Mits is going on 2.5 yrs old and still have the original bulb in it. I do have another on hand when i eventually fails.
Best John Mayer Album I am not a true JM fan (but love Jennifer A.) but in 1999 he opened up for the Rolling Stones in Houston, by himself - no band, and the 'kid' wailed. He didn't 'blow the 'stones off stage, but was very respectable in his performance. I do like Try...
Rega P3-24 or RB301 anti-skating bias Bob, What cartridge are you using? It may be too heavy for the standard Rega counterweight - I experreinced that with my P7/DV20XH. I had to get the Rega tungsten wt. (125g) before I could get my arm to float correctly. I know this does not answer... |
