Help settle a streaming argument! Absolutely! I went from a Vault 2i which was my first streamer and a great way to get into streaming and stored audio. I replaced it with an Aurender N200 and the difference is not subtle. It was a worthwhile purchase for sure.
McIntosh MX121 Test Tones? Is it possible the OPPO is not putting out it's center info? I have a 103 and it's been a while since I used it in surround but if I remember correctly it also has test tones built in. The center may be turned off in the oppo or 121. If y...
At what price is one considered an Audiophile. Perkri summed it up for me. I have two systems, both modest compared to many here. My second system gets me about 75 % "there" compared to my main system....it cost a lot less , zero fuss , sounds great. I get a lot of enjoyment from it...
Phono preamp, all suggestions welcome There is a Sutherland KC Vibe for sale here for $550. I have one with a 2m Bronze and it is a great sounding unit. Has internal jumpers for gain and loading. I like it a lot. So much that I think I might trade up to their 20/20. Super quiet...
Testing your system I agree. It’s easy to fall in love short term with a lot of stuff out there, because honestly there is a lot of good stuff out there The trick is ending up with gear that you are afraid to change or part with because it sounds so good.
Margules integrated Their gear looks nice, I never knew how far back they went until recently. They have roots in this biz for sure
Contact for Price Total turn off.... almost always means ridiculous price and seller is out of touch with it's value. Driven by nostalgia, greed, or both
Bluesound Vault position I ripped a bunch of CDs a while ago. Add a few here and there. I can pull them from the Vault over the network and put them on my Aurender’s SSD in FLAC and it sounds pretty good. Honestly since having Qobuz for 4 years now and Tidal for a few ...
Bluesound Vault position Not sure , that would be an answer only someone who had both could tell you
DAC DIRECT IN TO AMPLIFIER OR TO PREAMPLIFIER My DAC has no volume, I prefer a fixed output. I’m all tube, pre, Amp, and DAC... my Tuners and Phono Pre are SS . If you have a a mix of analog and digital components a good preamp is a must in my experience
Bluesound Vault position If you hear a scrapping noise , hit eject !
Bluesound Vault position The original Vault was vertical.....
DAC DIRECT IN TO AMPLIFIER OR TO PREAMPLIFIER I've always firmly believed a great preamp is key to a great sounding system...it is the heart and soul. I had a fantastic preamp, the Zesto Leto and that cemented my position on how important a great preamp is. It elevated my system to a dif...
Let's Talk DAC's Yes, in my case the Lab 12 is exactly the sound I was looking for. The funny thing about that DAC is I bought it with the intention of trading up within a year on a DAC that is 2 X the money. After a short time enjoying it I knew I was keep...
Let's Talk DAC's Yes , auditioning is important with anything, but sometimes you are splitting hairs with similarly priced DACs so it can easily turn into a lateral move if not careful |
