Neutral Dac? I am a big believer in synergy. I had a NAD m51. Sounded great in my system. Why I replaced it with the RME , I’ll never know. That’s not to say I didn’t like the RME , I did but the NAD has a more natural sound to me. The RME is what ...

Mesh network versus a simple Wi-Fi extender I'm using a TP Link Ethernet over AC adapter . From that I have a TP Link 10 port switch . One SFP port goes to a TP Link MC220 fiber optic converter. This is connected to my Aurender N200 via a short ethernet cable. I do the same thing ou...
Aurender I am really loving my N200, As lucmichaude said, stored content is indistinguishable from the original. Support from Aurender is great too... Im glad I stretched my budget on this one , it's such a slick way to stream, and store music.
Aurender I have the Aurender's USB connected to my RME DAC which I use in a headphone set up. The RME doesn't care about the source clock, it uses it's internal clock for all inputs Keep in mind thats just a USB 2.0 cable, nothing special. I think my L...
Vintage tube sound from a modern amp Yes, part of the reason I went SET. Simple , no matching tubes , auto bias is nice too. First amp I’ve owned that I don’t have to bias. That amp is a mythical beast though. One came up for sale a while back and the first thing I though...
Vintage tube sound from a modern amp That VAC is desirable…. Expensive to retube , but that’s the only downside to that amp.
Vintage tube sound from a modern amp Marantz 8 are costly….. try finding a nice one They are rare …. I was thinking the Dynaco too but nice ones of those aren’t easy to find and all need work.
Vintage tube sound from a modern amp and The 275 is an excellent amp…. Seeing one at Best Buy the other day all dusty , and left on 24/7 was really sad The Magnolia up here does a poor job representing McIntosh. It’s pathetic actually for such an iconic brand
Vintage tube sound from a modern amp My Toolshed replaced a pair of Quicksilver Mid Monos.... the best value in audio at $2200 a pair !!! Huge value proposition with these amps. Yeah they are ugly, but they are all about bang for the buck. I had them seven years, they were / are awe...
Vintage tube sound from a modern amp I couldn't even get Decware to pick up the phone or answer an e-mail. Three year plus wait? I definitely made a wise decision buying this amp . I would love to put this thing head to head with their 300b....
Vintage tube sound from a modern amp That VAC is a beauty for sure , that is a legendary amp....
Mcintosh C1100 preamp -- how to connect TV & subwoofer? If you have a DAC that’s probably the best way to connect the TV. Via Toslink fiber optic to decouple the video from your audio. Some subs have dual RCA or XLR inputs that you can drive with pre outs.
Has anybody heard the Whammerdyne Circuit Salad recently? In my search for an amp Indid speak to Pat over at Whammy. He was kind enough to spend a few minutes talking about the DGA amps which he is Damn proud of
Has anybody heard the Whammerdyne Circuit Salad recently? The Whammy is low production like many of the smaller companies are. Sometimes your best bet is to see if they are doing a show. I hate buying sight unseen but in this hobby sometimes if you want a certain product you just have to take a lea... |
