Thoughts on Speakers for a Small Audio/Video Room
I’ll take a look at the Revivals. I think the challenge with any recommendations that can’t be demoed is you just have to take your chances. Agreed, but these speakers are quite popular right now so you’d probably have little downside risk buyi...
Long XLR Interconnects
When I look at the cost of a new rack and long interconnects I'm not convinced I will end up with a better end product.  I’d 100% agree with that and think using amp stands is an excellent idea and will be doing that myself.  @audphile1 thanks ...
Is it fine to connect a power strip with A/V to one input of the power conditioner?
If the outlets in your Hydra are isolated it’s probably no problem and may be why Shunyata said it’s not a problem.  I’d check that for your specific model, but you can always just try it and see if it results in any degradation in 2-channel perfo...
What were your top musical discoveries of 2024?
I have so many discovered on Qobuz I can’t even list them all.  The thought that came to mind is how sad it is for those who continue to live in streaming denial as I l wouldn’t have found most of my treasured new discoveries without it.

Here’s a nice used pair of Revival Atalante 3 monitors at a good discount that’d be well worth a look.  Best of luck.  https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650169357-revival-audio-atalante-3/
Help With Streamer - Aurender, Auralic, HIFI Rose, Eversolo A10, etc.
Here’s an Innuos Zen at a very good price.  You can rip all your CDs right into it, and their Sense app gets the highest marks for being user friendly to the point that some have even dropped Roon — high praise.  They also have excellent customer ...
Vacuum Tube Preamp for Solid State Power Amp Pairing
What pre are you using now, what improvements are you looking for over that, and what sound characteristics are most important to you?  This info will result in recommendations much more suited to your specific tastes/needs.  And don’t worry too m...
What exactly is PRaT???
After four pages of discussion, I am pretty sure Agoners can’t help you with this, unless they are a Buddhist monk or a licensed psychologist. @knownothing I agree. Nothing anyone has said here has helped or made any sense to me whatsoever — I...
Thoughts on Speakers for a Small Audio/Video Room
Try playing with speaker placement first.  I’d suggest pulling the speakers another foot into the room and more like 5.5’ - 6’ apart to give more breathing room from the walls and see if that mitigates the issues you’re hearing — my guess is that ...
Needing DAC Advice
You should consider the new LTA Aero DAC as it will add a bit of that tube goodness/flesh on the bones you seem to be looking for without going too far or sacrificing much upper octave air/detail.  For an additional $149 I’d consider the Ray Tube ...
Needing DAC Advice
What’s your budget, and are you looking for new or used?  Besides being more musical, what specific sound characteristics are most important to you?  More info = better recommendations here.
LAIV Harmony
Question is do I need a DDC? What is a DDC?  @sim_audio_nerd  I added a Denafrips Iris DDC before my Musician Pegasus R2R DAC and it made very significant improvement.  It provides galvanic isolation to reduce noise from USB, a TXCO Femto clock...
Long XLR Interconnects
I’ve been considering the same thing, but I don’t want to sacrifice/change sound quality by using cheaper interconnects nor do I want to spend thousands on longer lengths of my current interconnects so my solution is to get a low 2-level audio rac...
Which subwoofer should I get?
@mswale  I agree with @big_greg if you heard boom boom from the SB3000 and highly likely that sub wasn’t dialed in properly.  I’m not saying it’s on the same level as the better RELs or JL Labs subs, but it’s definitely not a boom boom sub if set ...
Which subwoofer should I get?
My personal evaluation of Rels Neutrik hi-level input application is based on 25 years of ‘personal’ knowledge. I am still currently using two Rel T9i’s so my opinion is they work exceedingly well for me using hi-level for hi-fi. @mylogic  Most...
