End of a long quest to vanquish sibilance.
@steakster Thanks. Yes; I’ve tried covering the coffee table and I didn’t notice any sonic differences. Same story with draping blankets over the slate hearth/glass fireplace insert. I’ve experimented with this several times. As you can see, I...

@12many It would be interesting to see if a rubber or heavy fabric pad between the floor and the paver and the paver and the stand would also remove the sibilance. FYI, I have Herbie’s gliders attached to the bottom of the stands. Sorry for n...

@ozzy62 Thanks. It’s certainly a great relief and fine for now. It’s a novel experience hearing vocals without being assaulted by distorted plosives and ssshhh "trails". I do miss the bass response I got with the Aqua DAC -- the Hegel H390’s i...

@ghdprentice  Interesting. I wonder if some other part of the brain kicks in once we exhaust the possibilities dictated by reason. I agree that in my case, I probably would never had discovered the root of the problem had I not happened to demo ...
LAIV Harmony
@no_regrets  Thanks so much for posting the additional quotes. I recognize that, due to budgetary constraints, trade-offs are  inevitable in my case. That's OK. However, sacrificing musicality for resolution is a complete non-starter for me. Whe...
LAIV Harmony
@no_regrets Based on the writings of Michael, the LTA Aero (although being more expensive than the Harmony) has more developed sonic attributes that are more in-line with what is important to me. The following excerpt from the Twittering Mach...

@curiousjim  Always happy to share what I've discovered.  BTW -- which S. Fabers are you demoing??????

@curiousjim  You're welcome! I always enjoy the sound of Du Naan's records. I'd like to pick up a few more. For a non Jazz recording, try "Come On Home" by Boz Scaggs.
I Sold my CD Player!!! Streaming sounds so incredible!!!
I find CDs generally poorly recorded, clipped and way over compressed.  I have over a thousand of them and just don’t like the sound.  If I had the same experience, I wouldn't bother with CDs either. It's not my experience, though.

@curiousjim  Any of the records Roy Du Naan engineered for Contemporary. Many should be streamable.  Here's a list: : https://www.discogs.com/artist/407308-Roy-DuNann
Thanks to the Moderators
We need more people making decisions for us on what is good or bad in our adult life. When an audio thread becomes a soapbox for personal attacks that have nothing to do with the topic, I'm thankful for a moderator.  I don't view it as a "threa...

@audphile1  Thanks for the additional information.  The name "Manic Moose" does sound like something a HS kid might come up with!
