B&W Matrix 1 Series 2 - Should I buy something more efficient?
The Matrix 1 is a very inefficient 4 ohm speaker. And yes, you have it seriously underpowered. Forget receivers, that speaker needs a high current amp ~200w/ch. Unless you plan on spending some serious cash for an amp, I would get a different spea...
Can a buyer back out with no penalty?
"There are and should be the degrees of wrong."Thanks for the laugh. That’s funny, like being a little bit pregnant. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but the varying part is the end result of the action. Sure there is a greater loss bre...
Can a buyer back out with no penalty?
"Breaking contract on a small scale is wrong but not terribly wrong. I believe, negative feedback would violate the principle of adequate reaction in this case."Sorry, I didn't get the impression from the post that the transaction was small scale....
Can a buyer back out with no penalty?
"He did nothing terribly wrong."That may or may not be true. Buyer made an offer and seller accepted. That's a contract. Breaking a contract is terribly wrong, however, if the buyer's offer was contingent on the audition, then he did nothing wrong...
Can a buyer back out with no penalty?
Agree with mofi, collect a non-refundable deposit before the audition. It is a must to be careful and not let "tire kickers" abuse you. I would give a close friend the audition, but with everyone else, it's strictly business.
Upgrade my DAC or buy more weed?
Actually, it doesn't matter which one you do since the other one will follow.Wow, this new DAC sounds great, I need to get some more weed before I run out.Wow, this weed I just got is killer, think I'll upgrade my DAC.
PS Audio Detect Power Center vs past PS Audio conditioners
Do you have a dedicated line run to your system?
power conditioning question gentlemen
When you say dedicated line to the room, is this for the system only with no other outlets? Do you know if it is 12 gauge or 10 gauge? If it is 12 gauge, you could run a 10 gauge dedicated line for the amp only, and use the current one for everyth...
Adding Center Channel
ricred1, glad to help, and happy everything is working better for you.
Who's absorbing the cost?
Willie, understand what you are saying, but return policies are usually made for categories, not for specific items. Like jmc says, all costs are included in the final selling price to the consumer.
Who's absorbing the cost?
It is a very common policy among retailers that any opened media (vinyl, CD, DVD, game software, etc.) can only be exchanged. Refunds are only available when it is unopened with factory seals intact. Sorry, no idea where cost of returns is absorbed.
small amp for 2.1 computer audio (svs ultra)
yogiboy,That statement can be a little confusing, but I don't he is asking for a balance control and this is what he means."button that you turn from left to right to adjust the volume" - a knob that you turn clockwise(left to right) to adjust the...
Adding Center Channel
Connect the Marantz front preouts to the HT bypass input on the preamp. Then when you select that input, the Marantz VC controls volume on all speakers. Even though sound quality of L&R may not be quite as good as before, the sync problem shou...
Adding Center Channel
Sync problem is being caused by your connections. You have created two different signal paths for the 3 speakers.Oppo HDMI output > Marantz > Center SpeakerOppo Optical output > DAC > Preamp > Amp > L&R SpeakerThe issue is no...
Adding Center Channel
Then the Marantz front preouts connect to HT bypass input on the preamp and analog output of DAC connect to an input on Marantz, correct? If this is not correct, can you please describe the connections between the Marantz, preamp, Oppo, and DAC.
