Adding Center Channel
How are the source and amps connected? Does the 2 channel preamp have a HT bypass input?
filters on speaker cables
"Most subs have a built in crossover that will limit the base going to your main speakers. Do a search for subs and you will find many with built in crossovers"True that most subs have a built in crossover, however, it is generally a low pass filt...
Bi-amping Rules
Read the next to last paragraph in yogiboy’s link. IMHO, using different amps to bi-amp is just going down a dead end street and trying to get it to sound right will be like chasing a rainbow.
You can only take 5 albums to a deserted Island...
And I'm thinking Ginger, Mary Ann and I will dance, play, and whatever depending on the mood created by the music you are playing.
Technics cassette deck records automatically when pressed play
Is the timer switch set to "rec"? If so, it should be switched to off.
does the meridian g 98 have analog out
Looks to be just a transport, so you will need a DAC.
D and S lab tech speakers?
No reviews and the only way to purchase that I could find is ebay. Maybe, just maybe, if I win the lottery and decide to totally waste some funds, I would......On second thought, maybe not.
The merry go round. $700 seperates or integrated?
"I second the Audio Refinement integrated"I'm sure the Audio Refinement is a nice integrated amp, however it would be a very bad choice for the OP speakers, Infinity RS 2.5. Excerpt from Stereophile review,"the amplifier was current-limited into l...
Which Speaker System ?
IMHO, higher sensitivity speakers are generally better for home theater. Also, should you buy the used Wilson's, how easy will it be to find the matching Wilson center and surrounds?
The merry go round. $700 seperates or integrated?
I am familiar with the RS 2.5 and other Infinity speakers from that time, and I think it needs a very powerful amp. Infinity recommended a minimum of 100 watts, and that should be a very high current amp. Being a 4 ohm speaker dropping much lower ...
remove tubes before moving cross town?
IMHO, the main reason for removing tubes for shipping is the possibility of the shipping carton being dropped upside down. This could cause a tube to come out of the socket, then being loose, would surely break.
Newby Q about impedances etc.
Looks like the Contour 1.1 is also spec'd at 85db/2.83v/1m, 4 ohms, so 82db at 1 watt. With this low sensitivity I'm curious as to what is the damage to them and did it happen while playing? How do they sound currently?
Enchancing video, adding audio in the bedroom.
fjn04, I’m guessing your plasma (8 years old) should have HDMI since this became available on TV’s about 10 years ago. Assuming it does here’s the connections.Cable box HDMI output to one of the HDMI inputs on the Oppo, then Oppo HDMI output to th...
Amp's Line-Out to Subwoofer?
Thanks Al, and ironically, that comment from the other forum is a little confusing. I assume they meant, it would be corrected in the future.
Amp's Line-Out to Subwoofer?
Just taking a quick look at the manual, I would agree with mofi's response, however, if you look at features here,http://musichallaudio.com/old-products-a15-2/ it states that the line out is fixed. This means that the signal is not controlled by t...
