Monoblock amps and REL Series R Sub-Base Systems, Revisisted
Possibly you’ve checked or seen...https://relsupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004486647-Monoblocks-2-RELs-Connection-MethodThey provide some logic around why 2 subs are their recommendation, but it didn’t seem that it was a connection limi...
Best multi channel amp and processor good for 2 channel listening.
I’ll add my 2 cents...The AVM60, in my experience, has been a great piece.  I own a pretty complicated room correction piece for my 2-channel setup, DEQX PreMate, and would not recommend it to anyone that’s not super interested in the minutiae of ...
Speaker recommendation for Home Theater
I run Dynaudio Confidence’s in my HT, as part of my 2-channel.  I use a Marantz MM8077 to drive them during HT listening, with an Anthem AVM60 on the pre-side.  I have used it for 2-channel, when I havne’t felt like getting up and turning on my mo...
Down to 2 preamps
I own the AVM 60.  I have a dedicated 2-channel setup in the same room, so I don’t often use the AVM for listening, but periodically have, via iTunes/AppleTV.  It does not sound bad, at all.  I use a Marantz 7-channel and B&K 5-channel.  For H...
What is the most dramatic way of increasing a speaker's Bass and Low mid?
Second REW.  You can pick up a USB phantom mic for about $50 - $80, Dayton Audio comes to mind.  I don’t know if REW integrates with an app, now, but Dayton does make app capable measurement mics.  My experience with REW is what led me down a long...
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
@ramtubes,Thank you for the input and highlighting what’s actually happening in the market.  I’m enjoying the thread and learning a ton.
PS Audio Redcloud release/thoughts?
I did like Torrey’s and from recollection, it took a few days for me to warm up to Huron.  I read through a post in PS’s forum, they’re currently working thru their compiled codes and reviewing them for final selection.  The PS folks in the forum ...
Which High Res releases are worth buying?
I’ll share, do NOT buy Wilder Mind, from Mumford and Sons, it sounds atrocious.  I’ve purchased quite a few titles from HD Tracks:  anything from Pearl Jam has been great, Led Zepplin, Muse, John Mayer, the Otis Redding Complete Studio Collection ...
PS Audio Redcloud release/thoughts?
I don’t believe Snowmass has been released for the DSJ, yet.  But, looking forward to it.  I did remove my preamp and DEQX from the signal chain and have been running the DSJ direct to my amps, it sounds good, but I do notice noise at low volumes;...

Wondering what your thoughts are on the most significant transition/design element that has improved overall sound quality in today's amplifiers.
Pass Labs “House Sound” vs. McIntosh “House Sound”
@tzh21y I haven't listened to the MC275's in proper environment.  I don't call listening to them under powering a pair of Sonus Faber's at Best Buy an accurate assessment, which that's the only place I've ever really heard them.
DEQX not discoverable...
@almarg Though I appreciate the thoughtful response, it's equivalent to me not putting lugnuts back on a tire; which has never happened, but there may come a day!
DEQX not discoverable...
KISS...Keep It Simple Stupid...Had the USB plugged into the audio and not the control port.  It's up and running.
PASS LABS XO.2 Preamplifier 3 Chassis or Pass Labs XP-10
I’ve owned the XP-20 for about 1.5 years now, picked it up used for $5k.  Swapped out from a McIntosh c2500.  I’ll second Karl’s sentiment, the XP-20 is dead quiet.  Literally, you can hear what “black” sounds like.  It’s extremely transparent, an...
Upgrade from Ayre QB9 DAC
Have you considered a PS Audio Direct Stream or Direct Stream Junior?I own the Ayre QB9 DSD and a DSJ.  I use the Ayre QB9 as my dedicated headphone DAC.  I have A/B’ed them, DSJ was more revealing in the midrange and upper frequencies.  Little bi...
