Roon Nucleus vs generic NUC I had pretty much the direct opposite experience. Prior to using the Nucleus, Roon core was on a MacBook M1. Pretty good SQ in my opinion, but hadn’t known how much noise it was introducing until I had moved the core over to a Nucleus with a separ...
Lack of Female Representation +1 @painter24 great story you shared. @simao I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m a master at quilting, decoupage, and needlepoint - so much so that I’ve become quite the rage on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and aol email accounts.
Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System vs SGC Optical Isolation System Appreciate the responses. I haven’t identified any hardening of the sound so far, but I’ve also been listening at lower volumes early in the morning. I will say, though, the clutter is more than expected with the FMCs and LPS. I’ve had to spend qu...
Starting Point for Room Treatments? Room acoustics were (and continue to be) a huge issue for me that I’ve slowly been chipping away at over the course of the past 1.5 years. I actually found GIK free advice really helpful - they provide general education about room acoustics and th...
Which subwoofer pairs perfectly with Tannoy Stirling GR speakers? I have a Rythmik F12G that’s pairs nicely with the Stirlings. The variable phase control and parametric equalization have been super beneficial. For my room and listening preferences I have this sub crossed at either 50 or 60 Hz. https://www.ryth...
Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System vs SGC Optical Isolation System Thanks @audphile1 for that confirmation. I went with the SGC Optical Isolation System and heard a pretty big improvement - so much so I’m contemplating the Optical Module Deluxe. Here’s a question I’ve been wondering, though. Current setup...
Lack of Female Representation I can’t speak to why there’s a lack of female representation. I ran into an interesting experience, though, in regards to an inlet to my wife having a better understanding about a year ago. She had never been to a brick-and-mortar Hi-Fi store. Mor...
Why are so many people spending so much money to build “perfect” streaming system? I stream through an Amazon Echo via voice control, or a $179 laptop into a $130 SMSL DAC @jssmith understand and respect that you’re coming from a "bits are bits" perspective presumably from your software engineer background that you had mentio...
Why is everyone so down on MQA? @bobdg2000 Square has had majority (80%) ownership since March of 2021…
Best upgrade for SGC servers; LPS vs network switch I hadn’t heard that about the optical package being dry or thin - I would’ve been hesitant as well. Agree with the above - relaxed and rich sounding. My experience as well in addition to much less noise which was plaguing my system.
Best upgrade for SGC servers; LPS vs network switch Optical FMC package from SGC made a pretty significant impact for me and my Roon end point. Wish I had done this years ago had I known.
Why is everyone so down on MQA? MQA is confusing when it comes to the software and hardware needed to process the unfolds - 1st unfold, 2nd unfold, all-in-one unfold and then we have decoder, renderer, and full decoder. Curious if everyone is/had been using a full decoder to com...
STREAMING - QOBUZ VS TIDAL AND ROON'S PREFERENCES @chocaholic I feel like Roon Radio is pretty close to Spotify’s artist’s radio that you had mentioned; maybe not as good. Roon Radio usually begins after playing a single track that I had selected or after an album ends - can’t remember if I had s...
I have found out why new cables and tweaks actually work! I was literally at the seat of my chair reading each and every word…and then I realized this was tongue in cheek - the Axe body spray was a dead giveaway and mildly offensive since I use their product each and every day.
christmas music Apologies in advance that this recommendation isn’t an album while realizing this thread is from 2007, but we’ve been enjoying SomaFM’s Department Store Christmas - kind of like elevator music for Christmas (great background music). |
