Personally, I think that trio was too flashy and goofy, too much fooling around, in their live shows.  The studio stuff is another story.  Passion, Grace and Fire is great stuff.
When rap came out 30 years ago I thought it was just a fad
"Racial over/undertones?  Absolutely."Trust me, I've been around genuine racism and tater's anti-rap statements are benign in effect and possibly in intent as well. You have no way of knowing his racial views from what he is saying about rap mu...
Should we use ridiculously priced cables to listen to Rap?
"Racial over/undertones?  Absolutely."So now we have at least TWO members who can see into the hearts and minds of men.  Better call agent Mulder.BTW, ps, this thread was started as a gag by someone who is tired of taters' threads.   It is a parod...

oregonpapa, he, Eliot Fisk and Sharon Isbin all hit the scene around the same time.  Manuel and Eliot are very different players, each with a lot to offer IMO.  Manuel is the prototype of the modern, perfect technician but very musical.  Again, th...
I am sick of Adele
olgny, it seems you think Adele would be better suited to Norah Jones-type arrangements--or am I mis-reading?  I'd like to hear Adele with that sort of backing, might be good.bdp24, I'm a big Rondstadt fan (but not of her popular pop/rock years). ...

Anything decent on the low end?  That KL Audio machine is about as much as I have in my entire system (Dynaudio/Rogue/Rega/NAD/Denon).

oregonpapa, Paco and J. Mc are better as a duo than in the trio IMO.  And of course, their individual efforts are often sublime.I love all the Bream/Williams LPs.  There's even a live recital on youtube, FWIW.  One of my favorite guitar recordings...

calvinj, you spend a lot of time telling other people what's going on in their minds.  Please share  the source of your clairvoyant powers as we'd all like a little bit of that amazing ability.
How can it be that some old recordings sound sublime?
Modern live recordings aside, you're talking about two very different things.  Once you get very far beyond two mikes and a live recording you're putting together pieces of a puzzle rather than taking a snapshot of an actual event.  Non-live with ...
Would you be more likely to buy new gear out of state if there was no sales tax
yogiboy, did you realize that's not the guys you thought it was?
Who are the most underground high-end companies
deepee99, past 60 I could hear 11kHZ.   I didn't realize that was good.
A brief respite from the usual pablum...
I only lasted for 14 seconds.  Personally, I'd rather hear PDQ Bach's "Unbegun Symphony." YMMV.
Would you be more likely to buy new gear out of state if there was no sales tax
Texas already collects taxes  on online purchases in some cases.  I think they struck a deal with Amazon and I don't know who else to charge sales tax.  I believe they can do this since the distribution centers are in-state.

It was my impression that most of the people here listen to a wide range of styles.  But I enjoy and learn from the ones who don't as well as the ones who do.
