What is the most challenging music to play on a stereo? Mumblecore or solo zither. Or maybe anything you're familiar with? It doesn't matter what sort of music you play to test a rig other than you know what the hell it's supposed to sound like, and can then judge if the rig is playing it accurately.
Goodbye Everyone Waddaya mean A'gon isn't a "warm" forum? That's a pile of crap! Get the hell outta here!
Considering A 20-40 Watt Stereo SET Amp I used my Had Firebottle SEP with 90db or so speakers and it worked fine...you could test the distortion by cranking it but meh...it's a wonderful amp. 10 to 17 watts pc allegedly depending on tubes used, and it will work with a lot of different t...
First Watt J2 & speaker pairing ? I have a Pass XA-25 and it didn't have any discernible break-in time except for the "sounds best after an hour warmup" thing, and it's the best sounding SS amp I've ever heard over many decades owning of all sorts of amps. I also use a Had Firebot...
The best part about MQA bankruptcy.. A bankruptcy isn't necessarily the end and it certainly isn't going to stop a hit like Tidal.
speaker cables under 1k for Harbeth 30.2XD? The newer version of Kimber 8PRs are amazing sounding and a bargain.

Is it time that Klipsch Heritage marketing a subwoofer? I use 2 REL subs from the "Q" era bought "previously owned" for peanuts. A Q150e and a Q108MK2 that work perfectly with a pair of Heresy IIIs. The REL thing (and some other subs seemingly) called "high level," using the speaker outputs instead of ...
Is soundstage DEPTH a myth? If when hearing a well sorted hifi system playing, for example, orchestral music, and you don't heard depth you should simply find something else to do. Engineers use panning and level to great effect in producing recordings with realistic sound s...
Absorption, Diffusion or a combination of it all? Or, don't bother with either and simply enjoy music with a bit of room sound.
Tube amps - what 3 things… I think one of the best things about tube amps is the fact that they're fussy. I love the sound of my Pass XA-25 but it just sits there. Looking at glowing tubes, swapping 'em out for others, adjusting bias (I used to do that with my Jolida) befor...
Are you interested in the new generation of "old school" design loudspeakers? As a singer sang in Poco, "nothing happens in the past."
Tube amps - what 3 things… My Firebottle is from late 2016 (it has its birthday on the bottom with Had's signature) I and bought it in early 2017 for 1100 bucks or so. I'll never sell it.
Casual listening Is drinking and smoking pot considered automatically casual? In my new largish house I do pad around in a smoking jacket and those little Gucci slippers...expensive watch...drinking and smoking pot.
What speakers work with low wattage class A amps I'd try a pair of Atmasphere's Class D monos to see if he's right, but I guess that will involve buying them and sending 'em back if they don't satisfy my class A needs. Not likely to happen...I need to make friends with Ralph...who, by the way, i... |
